The golf wow...just looked at the leaderboard! Lowry and McIlroy really creeping up. Plenty of holes to play as well.
The two GB golfers also well in contention, Fleetwood having a cracking round.
Skicross and Snowcross are the highlight of the winter olympics imo
The lads in the 49er are having a stormer of a 10th race fighting for first on leg 3/4, not being televised following on the olympics site with live updates
They ended up 3rd in Race 10 which boosts them to 12th overall, if they keep this up i think they can deffinitely hit top 10 for the medal race, podium still might be out of sight however.
Races 11 and 12 have been delayed so no clue if they will happen today or be pushed to tomorrow
Lowry really unlucky the last few holes not to have a couple more birdies
This is first one I think?
Frustrating end in the golf, both lads still well in contention but it feels like we're hoping one of them might sneak a medal rather than having any real expectation going into the final round.
Quiet day today from an Irish perspective ahead of one of our most important days of the games tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a huge day, but don't forget we have a final to look forward to on the Track today. Very unlikely to medal but you just never know. Top 6 would be savage result
I just heard an interview with Shane Lowry. He comes across really well. Pity there isn’t a team medal as we’d have a good chance.
What's the story with the golf medals? If there are say 4 lads toed for third, do they play off or are there 4 bronze medals given out?
Yeah i think there does be a play-off if there is a tie
I see on FB that the lads in the 49er came 12th in the second race today (that was probably the final nail in their coffin), and won their last race.
Savage sailing by them, I'd say they'll hate the sight of that harness until the day they die!!
Paris, and a new weighing scales, here we come!!!
Also a shout out to Annalise, what a brilliant 3 Olympics she gave us - she did a lovely, gentlemanly interview yesterday basically handing over the baton to the younger sailors - I'm not sure I could have been that gracious and positive if I was as disappointed and frustrated as she must have been! Best of luck to her for the future.
Yeah looking at the maths if they had got a top 5 in race 11 they would have deffinitely been in the medal race, and without the harness issues ive no doubt they would have been vying for a medal. very unfortunate altogether, bring on Paris!
absolutely they would be in medal contention if it wasn't for that harness issue
Yeah no shared medals in golf, even if 2 tied 2nd they'll play off for silver/bronze.
Eighth in the 4*400 relay final
Good first leg but Phil Healy struggled on her leg and they never really recovered
Still, great to get into the final.
What was our time there? Were we a bit slower than yesterday?
3:15 think 3 seconds slower than yesterday
3.15.04, notably slower than the 3.12.88 yesterday

It will be interesting to see the splits. Phil Healy definitely seemed to have the weakest leg, the others looked a bit more solid.
The Hockey team have finished up in 10th place, the same position as the rugby team. Team sports are great in terms of making up a larger than usual Olympic team, but it's very difficult to contend for medals in those events.
The Irish team accommodation in Tokyo will be getting a lot quieter in the next few days. More than two thirds of our team have now finished their Olympics and the schedule will be a lot lighter for us next week.
What's left for us next week ?
We have 2 lads in the track cycling but unsure after that
At least we have Kellie Harrington to keep our interest to the end (hopefully) - assuming she was to make the final, she wouldn't be boxing for gold until the very last day of the Games.
Still to come are:
A good chunk of our athletics team - hopefully get another couple of finals/top 10s but realistically no medals for us there.
Our three remaining boxers - although worst case scenario two could be out by tomorrow morning. Kellie Harrington fights for a medal on Tuesday and is likely to be the big Irish story of the second week.
McClenaghan in the pommel horse final tomorrow, that's the end of his Olympics either way.
The two mens golfers finishing tomorrow. Then the two female golfers next week - Leona Maguire coming in to this in good form.
Eventers finishing in the next day or so, then the showjumping team and individual events next week.
There's also Natalya Coyle in the Modern Pentathlon, the two divers and we have four track cyclists.
Think that's about our lot form here. Tomorrow is massive but then quieter after that.
I'd say our most likely final medal total is whatever we have by this time tomorrow, plus one.
Didn't realise the boxing goes so late into the games.
Also had no clue we had someone in the pentathlon
Yes, the boxing tournament lasts the entire Games in fact, as there are so many fights : some boxers have to fight five times to win a gold medal and therefore need a good few recovery days.
Of course I forget they can't just go out and box every day.
This will be her 3rd appearance in the modern pentathlon, 9th and 6th in her previous appearances. No Arthur Lanigan O'Keeffe this time round due to injury.
Leona Maguire will medal. Show jumpers will finally come good and win Gold. Natalya Coyle will get bronze. Kellie will take Gold. Great week ahead.
Kellie maybe, 1 out of the other 3 and we'd be doing well.
