I did. I donated to Biden's campaign at one point last cycle, I think. I know I for sure donated to Graham's opponent.

    this ****ing guy.

Another pizza in the basement stunt no doubt.

I hope to god the allegations against him are proven.

    A despicable buffoon.

They aren't hiding anything. Schedule an appointment, don't rush the door like an ambulance chaser and expect to be taken seriously.

I would argue that they are for the people rubbernecking, which sounds quite callous, I know - I'm certainly not trying to make light of something as terrible as a car crash by say it is entertaining as I'm not defining 'entertaining' in the positive sense of someone smiling and enjoying a musical performance or a great play, but in the dark part of the human psyche that gets a shot of adrenaline - a thrill, of sorts - from seeing horrible things, even while being aghast in the conscious part of the brain.

Jesus, can these lot stay on point?

    Don't wear a mask.

    Do wear a mask.

    Protest against wearing a mask.

Zero integrity left in that party

You view a bumbling, incoherent, pathological liar that's openly trying to destroy democracy as entertainment?

I think you might need to get out more if that's the case.

Kinzinger and Cheney have integrity. So we're down to two. Very few more than that, I would say. The grand old party is now the party of grift and lies, and its honestly sad to see.

Nice moving of goalposts ... First it was no weapons and now it turned into No " lethal weapons" .... Ur gas

the law doesn't work that way. People should be held responsible for their actions.

I would argue that fatigue has set in. Whilst it may have been "entertaining" in a very loose definition kind of way, all he spouts out now is the same ould garbage. Blah blah, fake news, blah blah, RINO, blah blah, rigged election, blah blah witch hunt. Have I covered it all?

His ability to shock has gone too and that was something that the media was obsessed with.

Thankfully, most logical people realise what paying attention to him does, and so ignore him. That of course is the worst kind of punishment to a narcist.

I'm still waiting on those picture of the protestors touting guns inside the Capital Building that the poster claimed he had.

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

You do realise that being 'armed' doesn't necessarily mean have a gun right?

The Justice Department has informed the Treasury Department that it "must" turn over Donald Trump's tax returns to the House Ways and Means Committee, which first requested them more than two years ago.

"It didn't happen, and if it did happen he didn't mean it, and if he did mean it it doesn't matter, have to own the libs"

To paraphrase the closing argument in A Time to Kill -

Take everything Trump did or said from the time of losing the 2020 election up until he left office. Now, imagine those things were done or said by Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi.

Would Fox News, Breitbart and the base have looked as kindly upon it all, making excuses for the behaviour? Well, we know the answer to that question.

Next you'll be saying the testimony of those officers the other day was fake news. Realistically I think the few of you folks who continue to defend Trump, and not the Republican party, just Trump can be condensed into this. Regardless of if any proof, real proof, not the hearsay a lot of you rely on is presented to you, you will deflect. Your arguments and talking points come down to no he didn't (recorded proof), no he didn't mean that (recorded proof), no he didnt say that (recorded proof). You tend to hide behind that whole Christian thing, yet you are literally worshiping a golden calf (see that statue at that event). You do not care what happens to your fellow Americans, especially now with the whole pandemic, as long as it is 'owning the libs'. You folks are asked to back up some of your claims and you pivot to something way off from the original discussion to obfusticate and hope folks forget asking you to back up what you claimed. You are not American, bar your passport. And you are not sticking it to the man, Trump was the man. He is everything the Constitution was there to protect and you all rolled over and asked him to scratch your belly. There are even folks booing your athletes at the Olympics. And others who cheer for Russia to come 'save' them from the current administration. Folks with those thoughts promised that if Biden had won they would leave the US. Russia wouldn't even entertain you. I would love to point out how sad that is, but I dont think you would care. Keep letting that Golden Calf, one day it will come back and bite you.

So, Mafia Don Trump asked his DOJ to say the election was corrupt and 'leave the rest to me.' Straight out of the John Gotti playbook. As George Conway says, the future might bring a criminal indictment for Trump. Woohoo.

He's already on tape asking Georgia election officials to come up with another 10,000 votes.

It looks like if you were to take all the attempted fraud that happened during the 2020 election, a worryingly large amount of it was committed by the ex-president himself!

I really worry about the future of humanity when I read stuff like that. Its so hard to reason with and educate people who are so mindnumbingly stupid.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,100 ✭✭✭✭briany

Stefanik studied at Harvard university. It's not really want of access to a decent education that would be her problem. But then, I always wonder with these types of people - are they feigning ignorance on a topic in order to play to a certain group of voters, or are they just so far inside their own thought bubble that nothing may penetrate it? Either way, it's a difficult problem to educate your way out of. Especially now that right wing provocateurs have a built in defence mechanism of saying that any attempt to introduce nuance or balance to their world view is really an attempt to brainwash them.

I have long said it, it has nothing to do with education. Sure plenty of people are not up to a college degree (if you happen to place any value on the majority of these in terms of educating people) but people were well able to tell a con man, a fraudster, etc ling before education became the norm.

So it isn't like the majority of people are uneducated. They are educated, just not to the level of some people. But enough to be able to tell fact from lie, enough to be able to tell right from wrong.

They are choosing not to. The proof is that they are immediately able to point out when the opponent (HC, Biden, or whomever) does what it is they claim to stand against. It isn't education.

Delusional or disingenuous. I boiled it down to that a long time ago. A supporter falls neatly into either category IMHO.

Highlight quote: "The one thing Trump deserves great credit for is his absolute consistency, steadfastness and commitment to the truth of sharing who he really is.

He didn't mean it in a good way, if you're wondering
