ahh, thanks - I was told it will be Jab/Feb which im happy with, so just took the approach of don't think about it till new years otherwise I'll be driven mad with what if/ clicking refresh etc. All that said super excited to get mine.
Only your dealer can tell you the production week, or maybe the VW Ireland online chat system.
VIN number will eventually show up in the "My Vehicles" section of the VW Ireland page once you register and add your vehicle via the commission number.
I paid my deposit and was told I'll be contacted when it's ready ( im in zero rush ), but just curious where/how everyone is checking WIN numbers and manufacturing weeks etc ?
Mad Lad & Electricus, what build week were your cars scheduled for?
Yes I have a vin for what, 4 weeks ? but the dealer says it's stuck, The car is built just waiting for these parts and the parts shortage has meant VW alone have sold 100,000 fewer cars in 2021 possibly more at this stage, so I really can't be annoyed or blame VW it's out of their control and all manufacturers are effected and of course anything that depends on chips from the effected factories in Taiwan and Texas.
You'll probably get yours then around the same time and Fits and I.
I ordered a week after you and my dealer told me earlier that mine is built and ready to ship on the next boat (sometime in August?). It was scheduled for production in first week of July but VIN only showed up in My Volkswagen a couple of days ago (seems to indicated completed build?).
Based on that yours must be ready to go too, do you have a VIN?
Yeah it's all done now. It wasn't actually finished in the morning so maybe it froze overnight or something. I drove again at lunchtime and it was all done by then.
The infotainment screen does look nice now alright but i haven't noticed too much else. They have the euro 2020 flags as an option for the home button which sadly means there is no Ireland option. 😔
Got the prompt this evening that the OTA update is available; battery a bit low atm, will wait until charged over night. Don't think I need car tomorrow so will let it do it's thing in morning...
Luckily it happened now as opposed to when the free credit had expired.. that would have been a head-wreak trying to get them to reverse the charges..
Saw the Email in my inbox. Thought we had got away with a free bit of leccie..
That will knock a bit off my free credit, invoice should be coming in on Sunday 1st. Looks likely I will use up all of mine, now that we can utilise until Christmas..
AFAIK, the service plan they are including is the "S service plan" which is worth €288. Its the 2yr inspection service plus brake fluid and pollent filter. A rather expensive service, tbh, even if it is only after 2yrs. I think you'd negotiate a better price than that after 2yrs.
The "L" service plan is the only one that is decent value, IF you can burn a set of tyres within the plan time period.
What’s the deal with the pricing, I’m seeing a lot of dealers advertising cars for more than VW rrp. The style is listed as €37,111 but that’s with the sneaky service addition on top of delivery which is €1300-
So allowing for €650-€750 off for the service deal that I don’t want, the car delivered new should be €36,361, that’s cheaper than the second hand one in Wexford.
Does anyone know the cost of the optional Service Pack they are including ?
Maybe I’m missing something- I’m looking for Tour 5 prices at the moment and expect them to be at VW pricing of €41,110 minus the service pack ?
I just double checked a quote I got for a Business spec car, never copped it was for the lower powered motor- sales guy never mentioned it...
At this rate you're probably looking at October, I ordered first week of May. Not a hope I'll have it by August I'd say.
Yeah I'm really not a fan of the new site, it's a big turn off to be honest, if it's not broke don't fix it but I guess they had their reasons for moving to a new platform, just hope it wasn't for the reason of change for the sake of change.
Chat system on the VW Ireland website should be able to tell you the build week too I think.
Will do. I have the commission number and the spec is on the my Volkswagen site. No vin yet.
Ask your dealer for the build week, they'll have it on their system. Get the commission number too.
Don’t know the build week tbh. Just told it would hit Ireland in week 42 and take another week to be cleared etc. and ready for delivery. Ordered in the first week of June.
Lovely😜. I used to like that model, the hatchback was a great car to drive in its' time. I'm sure it feels a bit dated now.. At least it should be fairly economical..
Maybe not lol.
I hate the new boards. Too much white.
My sexy new wheels for the next few months. 2009 Focus, 1.6 diesel.
What's your build week?
That's more of an issue than the order date. The car I'm waiting for now is build week 29 (last week) even though it was ordered in March whereas the car that was previously ordered in error was ordered in May but scheduled for build week 24.
That week 24 car was just released from the factory on Monday so should hit Ireland in 3 weeks or so which would be about 8-9 weeks after the start of production.
If my own car follows the same time frame then I'll hope to get it around late September.
I also considered pushing it back until January, but as others have said that would potentially lose the SEAI grants and also the 0% finance.
There is a payment system due to come in later this year for feeding PV make into the grid.
https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/b1fbe-micro-generation/
with the Zappi you can set it to use the excess solar to charge the car
we-connect finally invoiced for all my ESB charging session now.. only 6 months late. sent an email as well stating there was a technical issue..
I see Wexford VW have a 58KW Style in stock for €36,975. Has 250km on it so must have been a showroom care or something but it's listed as one previous owner.
We have solar PV on the roof but don't have a battery pack so we just use or loose as far as I know...
Well, was all successful? Apparently not a lot of change visible and looks like timed charging still not fixed.
A good few of us here got the cars around 20th Sept last year, so interested to see when update comes..
No guarantee that the grants or 0% PCP will still be available then.
I ordered the ID3 in very early June and I am now being told it will arrive in mid October? Will it even be available then? Should I try and kick it into 2022? Anybody else getting similar news? I was originally told it would be early August. Thanks.
