Another Character from Galway; Pat Coyne has passed away. May he Rest in Peace. I will remember all his efforts to entertain the people passing by and having a Can with him the odd time.
Please only reply with kind words for Pat.

Hardy man. I think he lived out in the woods at Merlin at one stage. RIP.
Aw no, great character, always with a great sense of humour. RIP.

Sad to hear, RIP Pat.
Very Unusual it wasn't on RIP or the Death Notices on the radio
Was he living on the streets?
RIP Pat.
What a character.
Had to refuse him drink 20+ years ago in a pub I worked in (manager at the time made me) and it was no bother to him, bit of a wink and skip and out the door with no scene. His brother used to have a few pints every now and then in the same place. Nice lad, think he drove machinery.
RIP. I am late to this discussion, I was in Galway in 1989 and I met a man named Pat Coyne. We spent a little time together. He was charming.
He worked doing gardening, drove a motorcycle, and lived in a trailer, or a caravan. I think he owned the land that the caravan was on. I think this is the same guy. He was in his late 20s at the time. Can anyone tell me if this is the same man. So sorry to hear of his passing. Thank you, Best for 2022.
Certainly looks like him, lovely photo.
Great photo, has to be him. Striking resemblance.
So sorry I lost track; he was lovely! He wrote to me but I lost track the last 30 years. Life and such.
Gorgeous pic. He hung around with a friend of mine back in the day too, there were some great stories.
Sorry to hear RIP
Never thought I'd miss biko's strong handed moderation.
If you had an issue with the man you should have taken it up with authorities at the time. He's not here to defend himself, this thread should be cleaned up.
He had a positive impact on many lives, despite whatever challenges he had. He'll be fondly remembered by many.

This is an RIP thread. If you have nothing positive to say then do not post
He was charming and handsome. And did we laugh! He was so cheeky. I went over to visit him in the trailer, and after we had a beer I asked him where the bathroom was and he said that he didn’t have one! I reproached him, saying that he should’ve told me that. He responded, “If I had told you there was no loo would you have come out here?” I said no, and he said that’s why he didn’t tell me…
That's a great picture of him.
I think I got driven out to his trailer in like 2003 . Not sure where excatly that was, Didn't know the Merlin side of town until a few years later. Just that it was omewhere out in the direction. Girl I was seeing at the time knew him
But sorry to hear he's passed . R.I.P.
somebody should do a mural
