I've been caught out by this, forced update which won't allow the app to open at all now.
These updates are only bringing barely noticeable improvements, at the expense of kicking out a number of users. This is ridiculous.
FWIW if you really want to use the app without buying a new smartphone, it's still possible to run it inside an Android emulator on your computer, to activate the offers, and scan a screenshot of you QR code in store.
Thanks, got it going on an old spare Android 7 phone and got my QR code back, it'll just be a pain having to activate the offers on it.
(The Android 7 phone has much inferior specs to my current Android 6 phone if anyone's wondering why I don't switch over fully to it)
My Lidl plus was used by the guy behind me yesterday, he got a euro off. I got nothing.
We were all very confused by how it happened. I'm just going to ask for the paper receipt every time now.

He probably scanned before your shopping was totaled.
He didn't, I scanned my Lidl plus then paid. Got his receipt but paid for mine without the coupons. He paid cash.
The same thing exactly happened with me once. After that, I now wait until he starts scanning my purchase into his system and then I scan my QR code.

Nicole at Lidl claims the reason my qr code was stored at the till for another person and not applied to my shopping is because I wasn't using the newest version of the app, which isn't on the play store for my phone even now.
Goodwill gesture coupon covers the rashers and scratchcard I tried to use at least.

Given that this has happened before on Thursdays, I'd say it is more of a glitch at Lidl's end or something. Hopefully a scratchcard will appear later on for anyone affected.
If you don't get a scratch card by tomorrow, send Lidl a message on whatsapp on +353 1 421 2300 and they'll fix it, happened to me before
