I think it’s effectively that they can’t hold someone beyond 4 weeks if they get promoted or mobility. A colleague was promoted a few years ago and the PO refused to release - HR told him the longest he could hold was 4 weeks.
They can release earlier though if they’re able to. It can be work and replacement dependant.
I’m not sure. They’ll never guarantee you your EOI but if they can place you in a preference they will.
With retirement rates I’d say most will be recruiting.
Hi all, congrats to all who have offers/waiting on offers! I got my interview results on 7th July and am at 21 for open . I’m wondering if im in the current or next batch of people being assigned?
Congrats, you are with me in the next batch to be assigned :) I'm waiting on an update from PAS so will update when i hear back.
I was on the previous batch and it took approximately 5 weeks for them to reach my position (low 20s) on the open panel to the actual AP offer.
No update back from PAS yet. This is the longest wait I've had. I emailed on Friday and followed up yesterday but no word yet. A sign that perhaps things are slowing down for the summer???

Was wondering the same, seems to vary from batch to batch, some back in 10 days others over 2 weeks. Be nice to know one way or another. As time goes on i feel less and less hopeful :-(
I know expecting them tomorrow maybe as two weeks then?
Got the reminder message on Public Jobs about the AP 2021 closing date and nearly died with nerves - assuming it was the results but oh no!! Bloody reminder message!!!!!!

Last results were issued exactly 2 weeks after the closing date to do the etray. Came in around 3pm.
I’m waiting on etray results myself. I’m torn between wanting to know and be put out of my misery and not knowing because not having the result means I’m still in the competition, it’s sort of “Schrödinger’s etray results”; I’m still in the competition and yet I’m also not in the competition until the results come out. Nervous and slightly nauseous, and not looking forward to the notification.

Maybe they are all on holidays... I still haven't heard back from them since Friday! Trying to figure out where i am on panels so that I can indicate potential time frame for leaving for my current role.. The not knowing is painful.

Oh my, I passed the e-tray. I can't believe it as hadn't answered as many as I'd have liked.
I want to say a HUGE THANKS to Derailed for your tips and advice on the e-tray. I took the approach you suggested and I think that set me up well on the day. I know there was another detailed post with tips on how to approach it but I cannot remember who that was and can't seem to search this thread at the moment.

Ah congrats yes I've Dublin down as I currently commute there. I did hope that the remote working option continues but slightly premature to be getting too excited. The grilling is still to come. Will have to go back through all the posts for the tips on the interviews.

It's one of the many things not working properly since the migration. There's a limited search function (the magnifying glass icon on the top right, on desktop) but it no longer lets you specify advanced search options like only searching in a particular thread or forum. It hopefully comes back before people need it!

Anyone else waiting on a reply from Clearance? I don't want to be harassing them but I'm waiting well over a week for a reply to my original mail and the follow up!
It takes longer than a week. Garda clearance by itself takes around that, assuming everything is straightforward (not too many addresses, not lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months), then they have to follow up with references for current and former employers. If someone is on holidays, well, that'll delay things, too.
Edit to add: I'm in the same boat, from a different competition. Got a mail last week to say Garda clearance had finished and it was back to PAS.
Thanks Tauren..I should have been clearer; I'm not in clearance yet for a post but waiting to hear current panel situation. Looks like they took about 20 people in last 2 weeks so I want to know how many before me now. Waiting since 16th for a response!
@Cheeseplant Ah, gotcha - sorry, my bad. Hopefully you're not waiting too long - in general they seem to be moving very quickly over the last few months and there doesn't appear to be any shortage of vacancies!
