What do you call it when somebody abuses the power and the trust vested in them to such an extent that they have to to apologise for it in the Dáil?
when the musical Taoiseach chair is up for grabs next year this will come to a head, guessing it will Harris or Humphrey taking the chair for a few months, makey up position with big salary will be provided for the vain one to slither off the stage
As long as someone in FG does it, it's not corruption but if someone on another party does then its corruption and they should be locked up for it. Just hypocrites because you know if this was reversed they would be screeching from the roof tops.

In this particular case, the sharing of a document by the then Taoiseach, in the general sense, a storm in a teacup, in the sense in which it has been mentioned on these boards - an unhealthy, nasty obsession with the Tanaiste.
You call an abuse of power and trust that had to be apologised for in the Dáil and the subject of a lenghty Garda Criminal Investigation a 'storm in a teacup'?

Corruption : dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers)
What Varadkar did was dishonest and that dishonesty is being assessed to decide if it was 'illegal behaviour'.
Why do you object to abuse of power and trust (which leaking a document undoubtedly is) being called 'corruption'?

It is your opinion. I see nothing dishonest in what Varadkar did. He shared a document for legitimate governmental reasons in good faith, nothing dishonest about it. That is my opinion.

I was just seeing where the explanation came from because A poster above said it didn't mention Varadkar by name. So now for FG to accept a meaning of Corruption it must contain Varadkars name. The arrogance knows no bounds.
