He did not apologise for "corruption". The only "fact" we've established is that you dishonestly misrepresent others. Honestly - this literal corruption of language is a problem in Irish politics much like it has made it impossible to have a discourse in the US. Words become meaningless and thrown around like confetti.
I thought there was a thread anyway for Vradakar dislikers to talk among themselves
This one's about the government
Or supposed to be
Seriously do you not think it's extremely disrespectful to spell Varadkar's name incorrectly time and time again? What odd point are you trying to prove?
I actually think Varadkar is one of our most capable politicians and I expected great things after Enda left the stage but his promise has never delivered.
My phone saved that
Take it up with Samsung please and kindly stop discussing me :)
What you are Varadkar?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tbf having an openly corrupt taniste is a fair black mark againest the government and entirely meritable for discussion on the government
Whatever about ff,not a single senior fg member spoke out againest this,or considered it wrong....kinda of says it all about our ruling class tbh
😂
I think this thread is making you an angrier person. By the way the edit option is top right (the 3 dots).
He who smelt it dealt it
Still about me I see 🙂
He did not apologise for "corruption".
No, he said this instead.
I know your view...( repeated severally already)
Unless you have something fresh to say,I'll leave ye to continue the chat amongst yourselves there again if you don't mind
There is such a thing as legal corruption then?
Apart from completely misrepresenting everything that Varadkar said, you are just winding people up now.
It may be that the heat is getting to some posters and they are forgetting their own precious principles that one is innocent until proven guilty.
I didn't say he 'apologised for corruption'. He apologised for the manner in which he distributed the document. I.E. He leaked it.
What is 'leaking' information? It's against the rules.
If you break the rules, you 'corrupt' the rules.
No matter what gloss you wish to apply here, not matter how much 'squirrel' you want to engage in, that is the facts as we know them.
He can make any excuse he wants, and you ae quite entitled to accept them, but it doesn't change what he did.
He broke rules blanch,(Ask M.MArtin and those who accepted his apology for doing the wrong thing in the Dáil) the Gardai will investigate and the DPP will decide if he broke one or two specific laws.
When I went to school 'corruption' meant an abuse of power. Did Varadkar abuse his power? = yep, he sure did.
Can you point to where this particular abuse definition exists ? (Other than in your opinion)
Literally almost every definition will point to an abuse of power
Corruption, as it is defined by the World Bank, is a form of dishonesty or a criminal offense which is undertaken by a person or an organization which is entrusted with a position of authority,
I asked you to point to the definition of the particular abuse you're accusing him of...
He abused his power and had to apologise in the Dáí. WTF Marine? Are you going to pretend he didn't admit to leaking the document and to doing the wrong thing?
Jeepers!
Thats still a matter of opinion in your set
You've provided zero evidence of corruption
Did he not admit to this in the dail, though?
Whole thing stinks of corruption.....its ok like, hes the same as bertie and haughey, corrupt as fcuk, but their support love em for it
Nothing ever changes in this country.....he's corrupt in same way soldier f is a murderer,i know, you know it,every knows it (and says it)...why try fool country into disbeliving what they seen with their own eyes??,one of best educated populace in europe and ffg try and treat em as mugs
You're dancing on the head of a pin here. He passed a confidential government agreement to a mate. He was nabbed by the short and curlies and the coppers are taking a look at him.
If I handed something (almost anything) in my line of work to a spouse/friend / drinking buddy. I'm getting my p45 and most people are the same. And for stuff far less sensitive than pay and conditions agreement still under negotiation with relevant parties.
As I said. Based on these results and expecting the same results in a completely different election, you are trying to pass off FG losing a safe seat in a traditional FG stronghold as a win. Like the other poster claiming some FG voters voted Labour to get SF into government to teach FG a lesson :)
Threading on thin ice here:
corruption noun
cor·rup·tion | \ kə-ˈrəp-shən \
Definition of corruption
1
a: dishonest or illegal behavior especially by powerful people (such as government officials or police officers) : DEPRAVITY
Best leave it as Varadkar being under criminal investigation for passing confidential documents to an associate. We know this to be fact.
Losing seats is actually part of our winning strategy. You see, the more we lose in our stronghold constituencies, we actually win. Because people will miss us, and we'll come back as one of those retro-cool brands kind of like how David Beckham wears faded t-shirts of naff heavy metal bands from the 80s.
Rather than tackle issues people are concerned about or cancelling their exemptions for Cuckoo funds, among numerous other things, they seem comfortable fooling themselves into thinking they lose votes because the electorate are foolish or easily conned. It must be tough to have to go out and start working for votes now that the traditional power swap seems to be becoming unreliable. FF doing bad won't automatically mean FG get in anymore.
He was actually asked had he leaked documents in this way before, he answered 'not of this nature' or words to that effect.
He knew and accepted that he had 'leaked' a document.
You Marine are a classic example of somebody in denial.
Upping the rhetorical postings and multi repetition of baseless coruption allegations only pleases your own set but changes none of the facts
You are putting your own interpretations on these rather than relying on the actual facts. What definition of corruption did your teacher give you - what book was it taken from?
"Words to that effect" is hardly a convincing argument when you trying to put your point across.
