During the Boards outage we both got our 2d AZ vaccine. Excellent job once again at MTU, much longer queue this time. The jab still left us feeling a bit tired and out of sorts, but not nearly as bad as the first one. Fair play to the team administering the vaccine. Got the e-mail link to the vaccine passport the next day, too!
Can anyone recommend a place to pick up a good dog crate, one where the dog can sleep the night, besides the pet shop in Manor West and Kelleher's hardware ?
Finally able to post again! The update to the site took a lot longer than planned! There are probably still glitches etc, so bear with them! MOD
Less glitches...more of a complete and utter balls up imo...those Canadians rode poor auld Odhran...
I like the new look of the boards though. Hopefully it will be running a bit more smoothly soon.
I definitely don't like my expereience to date of the mobile version. I'll probably get used to the nuances of the desktop version but the mobile version is driving me slightly more demented than is healthy :)
The phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind...not loving it so far but maybe just needs getting used to.
On a Tralee note, Greyhound Bar signage has gone up on Hennessys pub. Didn't realise they took it over. Even if they did, does it make sense to have two pubs in town with the exact same name? Why not give it a different name unless it's a relocation from Pembroke St?
It was broke... that's why the migration was needed... unfortunately its a mess now... hopefully it's rectified soon
As for Hennessey's...
Edit:
It's a movie shoot.. Olivia Coleman's new movie...bar not sold 😂😂
Just saw after probably 20 years of talk of getting a skate park in Tralee and nothing ever happening with funding issues.....suddenly the council is putting in planning permission for one in killarney.
Think it is just Crazy! Especially since we have a far bigger population and bigger again without the tourists who won't be using it
It hasn't been taken over. The pub was being used for filming today in the new movie being filmed in Kerry. The Greyhound is being refurbished so it couldn't be used.
The skate park in Tralee is still going ahead. It has the funding and they got more through crowdfunding as far as I know.
But with all our 'digital knowledge economy' BS we like to spout, they had to get it fixed in Canada?
Probs couldn't find a company who would do it for coke & hookers I guess
Thats great to hear but it took along time and a quick google and no mention of crowdfunding for killarney skate park. You would swear we didnt have the same council. Also, planning is imminent there.
Has anyone noticed the new speed limit signs that have popped up around the town centre? there are 30kmph speed signs up in Edward street and Boherbee. I am not aware of anywhere else at the moment as they are the only two places I have seen them. I doubt anyone is going to notice them and certainly not take heed to them! The speed I see some people drive up and down Boherbee road is insane at times!
Fun fact.... there used to be 2 different speed limits in Boherbee... travelling from town towards manor was approx 30kmph faster than traveling along Boherbee in the opposite direction.
Who can guess why? :)
Another of those 30 signs has popped up on the lights near Counihan's, at the turn in to Ivy Terrace. Think it needs to be highlighted more to people!
On another note, is there any 'view first unread' option on the new site? Finding it tricky to keep up with my place in threads!
There are still a lot of things that are being worked on, so in time I'd say they will have ironed out issues like that.
The new 30km/hr zones are shaded red in the map. Scroll down for Tralee town.
Saw it yesterday evening. Really bizarre to have two pubs with the same name - what were they thinking of. When I was passing last night they had traffic management people and Gardai there to close off the road for some really large delivery I'd imagine. This was after 9.30.
Will you tell him or will I ? 😜
Saw the comments below after.
I see that Birds funfair is in Killarney at the moment. Is it due to come to Tralee this year?
Anyone know what's going on at Fels point where the circus usually goes? There's been loads of caravans and trucks parked there for a few days.
Its the crew and equipment for the movie being filmed here at the moment.
