What's the point in a pilot if you're effectively setting up a scenario that's the same as going for a picnic in the park. It tells you nothing. It needs to be a "normal" setting with crowds. Tested beforehand and traced to see the level of infection and spread.

Hopefully this "festival" avoids all those bubbles.

I think anything that helps concerts get back in long term is positive and gives musicians income in short term but would wonder the value alright if it can't be replicated. Will be interesting to see if gigs and festivals in UK can go ahead as normal later this summer.

The Elton John announcement was additional dates for outdoors in the US and Europe in 2022. No Irish outdoor date as of yet

Not a gig but this event was held in Dublins CityWest for years but has been moved for Leicester. Hope its not a sign of things to come and Irish stuff is been pulled because of our cautious reopening

You know city west is one of the largest mvcs in the country? And you want it closed for a week for darts?

It was scheduled to take place at Citywest this year up until today. So the organisers must of been told up until recently that the event could take place there but something had changed

Or they knew months ago, but had a clause in the contract that stipulated the date be held until 3 months before.

Or they knew months ago but had to arrange an alternative and didn't make an announcement until alternative arrangements were made.

I mean, your scenario that the pdc somehow have the government's ear is possible, but highly unlikely......

Strawberry session are on in Luttrellstown Castle in 2 weeks time. Jerry Fish, Wyvern Lingo,Lisa Hannigan (a few pods of 6 left). Riptide Movement seems to be sold out.

Limit of 100 people for each gig. There will be a bar there thankfully.

I saw that, can’t go on those dates, but a nice low key festival, and holiday chalet acomadation included in ticket price for 3 nights, all for €189, sounds like a good idea.

Noticed today that Foo Fighters and Anthrax (two bands that nearly always come here when on tour) and a few bands in the last couple of weeks have announced tours without an Irish date. Wonder is it as a result of continued uncertainty here or am I overthinking it? Typing this I realise I'm overthinking it😆

I wouldn't say your far off the mark, why would book a date in an island where you could sell out 1or two dates max that hasn't event given a wink to when they will allow live music back in any real capacity, makes absolutely no commercial sense.

I think its due to Brexit, usually ireland was stuck onto a uk tour, alot of red tape now for what one gig? This was on the cards well before covid
