It's not about opening or closing it's about the government dithering, miscommunicating and making a balls of what should be very basic stuff.
The problem is the government don't want the responsibility. So instead of making clear decisions they are doing it piece meal and tripping over each other and then trying to blame health advice on why the government seem incapable of organising would should be the simplest of things.

Pick a planned re-opening date.
Pick a date two weeks before that to confirm or cancel the re-opening.
Let everyone know the re-opening will be decided on that date.

All they are doing is trying to dodge accountability by playing catch up instead of leading.

You aren't making any sense.

You set a re-opening date and a few weeks before have a deadline to decide whether it goes ahead or not.
On that deadline you assess and make a decision. Very straightforward.
Accountable and responsible basic planning.

Indeed because when you look for political leadership really what the public are saying they want to pay an expensive PR team or non at all.

The people want the leaders they elect to work as a cohesive team which is evidently not happening.

Of course, getting rid of the SCU was the wrong thing. The communications issues we have seen since then, which you have been so critical of, are the result of that decision.

It is clear now that the SCU prevented communications problems like we are seeing now. As the biggest critic of the government's current communications issue, you must be able to se that. I am sure that you are grateful that you were a strong supporter of the SCU and that it can't be shown that your opinions swing in the wind of whatever direction SF are heading.

What is interesting though, is that criticism is limited to communications issues. While communications are important, in a pandemic it is much more important to get the substantive issues right, so I am sure you support the delay to indoor dining.

Looks like we are performing well above the EU average there, too.

So it seems that the clear unequivocal medical advice is get people vaccinated as quickly as possible and be careful on lifting measures, and this is what the Government is doing.

But sure, the communications should be better, but if you ask me, I prefer to be alive with bad communications than dead and being efficiently told I am gone!!!
