The Women are back racing again this weekend too. Saturday at 1:05pm live on Channel 4.
First race of the day about to start. Bring it on.
That was a good race. Some overtaking most of it clean. There was one that got touched and ended her race. There was a safety car too after one of them went off for whatever reason I do not know. They never showed it. The racing at the front between Alice Powell and Fabienne Wohlwend was good too.
Congratulations to the winner in the end.
It could have been either of them.
There was another one - the overtake by Visser on Moore, right at the end of the race, it took almost half the lap to get the move done and was great to watch with them side by side and Abbi Pulling right behind them
Beitske Visser, Alice Powell, Jamie Chadwick, Fabienne Wohlwend, Emma Kimilainen and Sarah Moore, I think are clearly above the rest of the field. Abbi Pulling was impressive on debut also and only 19 years old.
Fun fact, Abbie Eaton is the Grand Tour version of "The Stig" (professional racing driver who drives super cars around a lap to see which is fastest)
Her girlfriend, Jessica Hawkins is also a racing driver in the W Series.
Unless there were husband and wife racers in endurance racing, this may well be the first time a couple professionally race each other in the same series.
Sorry, Stewart and Jessica Friesen beat them by both racing in the NASCAR Truck race at Knoxville on July 9 (and would have been even earlier in the Bristol dirt race at the end of March, but Jessica failed to qualify when the heat races were cancelled). Unless that doesn't count because they both raced under the same stable?
