With the recent addition of the Off-topic discussion thread, I am closing the current McGregor thread so that chat going forward can be located in the correct threads. This thread is for MMA related discussion only - any other gossip/showbiz type stories are to be discussed in the off topic thread.

Please make sure to review the updated charter before posting - there have been some amendments made in light of these changes and in posting here you are at all times expected to follow those rules and guidelines.

As before there is a strict rule on no chat to be had here about legal issues or court cases as per the charter - this is a strict no go regardless of where it has or hasn't been posted in the media it is not allowed on boards.ie at all. This is not up for debate and it has been said multiple times now.

He adjusted somewhat in the 2nd round by grabbing a few of those legs kicks but the damage was probably already done you could see the reddening and swelling already .......he certainly can't go in with the same flat stance or he'll get chopped down again

Now I'm talking about those who don't really follow the sport there, all they watch is the really big cards.

You're not alone, I think he'll win too, I'm surprised how many people are writing him off

He didn't do too badly in the second fight but just folded like a deck chair as soon as the legs went and Dustin knocked him, he didn't have his hands up either, a sitting duck by all accounts.

I think it all stems from my post where I said if he loses, rather than take (potential) damage in MMA he'd be better off exhibition boxing for more money.

I wasn't saying he's taken serious damage, to date.

Reading the posts in context it was pretty clear he was talking about bloodied in the sense of taking excessive damage. ie being a bloody mess like Sanchez, Diaz, or whoever.

If we listing every cut and scrape. Might as well include a nick while shaving.

A poster said Conor had never been bloodied before, several posters including myself pointed out that was incorrect and gave examples.

Having a big height and weight disadvantage make it tricky for the smaller more skilled guy

You asked if he's been bloodied. That cut was a bit more than a nick, especially with Mendes jamming his fingers in it..

I mean going forward if he loses. He can continue to fight elite fighters in the UFC and take damage or he can choose the cosy route and make more money.

He said it himself he wants to get in, get rich, get out. This is how he does it.

He's taken plenty of hard blows Nate twice, Mendes, Khabib , Dustin & Floyd

Having a good chin doesn't mean it din't happen ,
