What does the future hold for Donald Trump? - threadbans in OP

I've seen two main options put forward on this forum, (1) that he'll remain a political force until the 2024 primaries start up and the Republicans have to take him seriously or (2) that he'll be so mired in litigation that he'll have no time for politics.

There are of course other options for the next 4 years - prison, exile, death or ill-health (he isn't young and he's been under stress), no politics but a business success, emperor. But it'd be an interesting exercise for people to lay their cards on the table now and make their predictions.

Personally I think his political influence will die quickly after the Capitol fiasco but someone else will emerge in 2 years, once the memories have waned, to be the standard-bearer for the QAnon wing.

From what I've been reading if their claims of not knowing (along with Rod Rosenstein) are true, then that is what makes it illegal.

Post Watergate there were rules implemented about who could be surveilled etc. along with the when and how if it all , particularly for sitting members of the various branches of Government.

Basically , for requests like these to be legal either the AG or Deputy AG have to be officially informed and they have to sign off on it.

So , if the 3 Amigos are telling the truth , then someone is in big trouble.

Of course , if that someone has the receipts to show that they did indeed follow protocol and inform the right people then there could be even more people in trouble.

I’ve said this more than once in various Donald trump related threads, but the Nixon family and the Nixon presidential library must be secretly delighted that trump became president, because Nixon is looking statesmanlike next to him. Nixon had many faults and is the only president to resign, but compared to trump, Nixon had actual policies formed on something other then “how does this benefit me ?”
