Rte commentator said he saw thumbs up from a medic and I think brady is right there would be bad reactions from the Danish players if the medical interventions hadn’t had some success so hopefully he pulls through.

Yeah there's a photo doing the rounds on twitter of him leaving the stadium on oxygen where it looks like he's conscious. Fingers crossed it's true.

I must say I became a bit teary seeing the wife being embraced by Schmeichel and another player on the sideline, it took me right back to Paris and Anthony Foley.

RTE Sports news on the 6.1 quoting a Reuters comment that he raised a hand from his stretcher at some point when being borne off the pitch. Lets hope thats correct and that the outcome will be better than it looked initially.

But yeah, not the better of that at all.

Sky Sports News showing that now, he certainly looks concious and is lifting his head under his own steam. Hopefully will do well now.

Sky News now reporting that the Danish FA has released a statement saying he is awake, has been stablished and is gone to hospital.

Phew.

Correct...there is no way a player can make this decision...they are still in shock and the game should have been halted

I’m not sure. Players will always say they want to play. Completely different circumstances, but players who take a knock to the head would say the same; there’s a reason that decision is taken out of their hands.

It’s a difficult one. I’m interested to hear the likes of Richie Sadliers opinion on it.

And there are circumstances where that decision is taken out of players hand, for good reason. I don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest that seeing your teammate nearly die on the pitch an hour previous might qualify as one.

The Players made the decision. Eriksen even spoke with a couple of people in the camp.

Yes indeed..the truth is coming out today after the Denmark v Finland game
The players were given the option of continuing on, or playing at midday the next day.
I knew it was a load of shít that the players chose this themselves.... UEFA need a good hard look at themselves after this debacle

Fairly common for a rural kiwi kid to adopt a possum, I knew a few and think my mother did. Though gets difficult once they are fully grown - likely many met an early demise. Also amusing the discrepancy between the way Australians and NZers view them - cute cuddly natives or habitat-destroying tree rats. That article is very Guardian however, some very flawed reasoning creeps in.

Strange to say that the NZ cricket team is better than the rugby team right now! The top players are paid better too.

There are permanently Gardai in and around that area now. Either uniformed Gardai or the militarized version trying to intimidate people. They can’t be everywhere at once but I’d imagine they weren’t too far away.
