A few days away from the second Slam of the year. I guess for the men's Nadal has to be favourite. Is there anyone that beat him here? As for the ladies for me its wide open with 3 or 4 players that can win. I see Osaka has said she is not doing any press at the French Open for her mental health. I don't see her winning it.

Well, that was just the strangest match.

I was hoping Medvedev would make a match of it, and he just didn't.

And what a bizarre last point! Wtf was he thinking???

It's just awful without a crowd, you'd have to wonder how much of a difference that would make in various matches if the crowd was there to rev a player up from the doldrums.

Someone usually beats Nadal in Aus though. I think Nadal will eat him without salt in a final here. He would eat Zverev as well . Id give either of them a chance against Djokovic in a final

Oh I know Nadal is beating both of them handily either way, I'd just hope that Tsitsipas might make it competitive for a bit.

Both of the women's matches could easily have gone the other way. Badosa was clearly disgusted she lost to the much lower ranked player. Actually, Zidansek hit more winners and less unforced errors than Badosa. There was a bizarre moment in the last set when Zidansek hit her only ace of the match, and one of her coaching team blessed himself

Rybakina flagged towards the end of her match, and did well to keep it going as long as she did. Pavs has played plenty of very long matches in her career, and that showed here, even if the match wasn't exceptionally long. Both women's matches were "only" about 2 1/2 hours long, despite the scorelines.

I just can't see Nadal losing to either Zverev or Tsitsipas in the final, if that's how it pans out. Father Time will eventually beat him, but not just yet, not at Roland Garros.

A real sense that Medvedev left that match behind. Made too many poor shots, and poor decisions, at crucial times. Hard to gauge what Zverev is like. Is have beaten his opponent today. I don't know if either player would best Nadal or Novak. And I don't even give Novak much hope against Nadal at this stage.

Also the decision to stick with night matches this year when they knew there would be no crowd was a terrible idea.

Djokovic for me is the main challenge to Nadal..I know last years final doesnt suggest that but if you look over the years Djokovic is one of only two players to beat Nadal at the French. There was also another year Novak should have beaten him, took it to 5 sets and if memory serves me well he was a break up in the 5th. In two other finals Novak took Nadal to 4 sets.

Tsitsipas might take Nadal to 4 in final, zverev would get destroyed in 3. Djokovic beat Tsitsipas and Zverev at the French last year or year before. I think the only chance of Nadal not winning is if Djokovic goes into his beast mode, afterall he has 7 clay wins against him.

All that aside I still think Nadal will win. Tsitsipas will put zverev away

2013, he was a break up in the 5th and had a point to go 2 breaks up, some ****e about his shirt touching the net f*cked it up for Djokovic and the little aspirin pumped tosser took full advantage.

Serena, Tsitsipas and Gauff I think, though milks his fame the most with Serena.

The amount of prize money the top women can win is unnreal. The women get the same amount in the singles as the men, and nearly all the top women play doubles and some of them play singles, doubles, and mixed. I'm not sure any of the top men do or could do that

DS really struggling to hold his server all throughout this set

Does not augur well for him having even the remotest of chances unless that changes.

Also what is with the weird little double-noise that he makes before AND during/after he hits a forehand ground-stroke.

Literally every single women's quarter final went the opposite of how I wanted. Don't really care who wins it now, I've zero investment anymore, but if I had to pick someone it'd be Pavlyuchenkova. Was always a widely tipped prospect but never really made it big on the seniors tour, despite several grand slam quarter finals. Watch Zidansek win it all now!
