More disturbing revelations about the Acute Care unit of the Dept. of Health running interference on the 2nd Cath Lab, as reported in this weeks News & Star. Assistant Secretary Tracey Conroy writing to Minister Harris trying to put the brakes on him delivering the modular cath lab.
    Who are these people????
Is this the same little un-elected, unaccountable cabal that muddied the water for Herrity prior to him writing his sh1tty little flawed report???

Probably as they said at the protest last week that it wasn't necessarily the elected officials who were against the cath lab it was the un elected civil servants. Second cath lab won't happen for long time will be delayed and delayed and delayed.

Congratulations to Waterford FC for putting the Cath lab campaign on their jerseys for the season.
Interesting that the FAI had no problem with this stance compared to the noises that the GAA HQ made over the Southeastern team's Hand on Heart stances; https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/sport/gaa/hand-on-heart-campaign-did-not-breach-gaa-election-rules-978268.html

Funny that they take such a stance towards that. The GAA was a political organisation in orientation when it first started.

Rob Cass tonight has claimed 24/7 is happening. Knows something we don't or got it very wrong.

Varadkar was in the Dail this afternoon talking about this, unfortunately I wasn't paying attention until it was too late but he did sum up by acknowledging the background noise and feeling to this saying the people of Waterford would only believe it when they see it

Brand new cath lab built recently in Whitfield with little fuss
Maybe public service might lease it out on a 24/7 basis
Remember there was a radiotherapy issue a decade ago until Whitfield stepped in and sorted it
Efficient private sector intervention doesn't suit some politicians

Wouldn't think so yet. I'm sure we'll see the political photo op when soil is broke

Oh ye of little curiosity! Take a trip to UHW and see Tom O'Brien on site. As second cath lab and associated ward are being built on top of the existing cath lab near the Emergency Department entrance, you may not see any broken soil! Site huts etc., are opposite the old chapel building.
