For context, F8 grossed $392 million in China alone (even the US only managed $226 million). But that's the point made elsewhere; China is the Prime Market for blockbuster movies these days.

No other way to spin that other than a fairly craven attempt to placate a notoriously twitchy audience, one that reacts badly to even the smallest slights.

You could probably watch from 5 onwards. There are 2 characters whose endings in 3 and 4 are relevant to later movies but I think 3 and 4 are inconsequential overall. You could go back to the start and enjoy the ride as it gets increasingly more and more bonkers though.

80% of adults vaccinated in June, this is released end of June... this would be some film to see after the hiatus. It would actually be criminal to watch this on anything that’s not a big screen with surround sound and a massive bucket of popcorn.

It's funny 'cos Fury Road had hundreds of CGI shots in the final feature, but mostly either colour grading or removing wires & tracks. The CGI cars in F&F have always looked super fake though, so not that convinced things will be any better in the final film...

They also used CGI on the truck to make it move more with the impact of the car.
It's actually probably 60/40 going by how heavy handed they are with the CGI.

Funnily enough, I just saw a clip from Justin Lin on that stunt and it is, in fact, practical. Just touched up (badly) with CGI.

Just watched the trailer for this and I pissed myself laughing the whole way through, I would love to go see it in the cinema and laugh the whole way through it. Between the acting, the stunts, the plot its so bad its hilarious.
