Looks like it's owned by a couple, or a pair of empty nesters, can't see any sign of kids there. The house is actually well maintained, I don't like the decor, but they've looked after it.

There's a small back yard that looks straight onto a very steep slope and the front road is quiet enough with stunning views across the Mournes and the estuary*, and full SW sun, so I can see why they put the doors out front. Looks like life there circles around the green so there's plenty of people to chat with when passing (if that's what you want).

Building a shed for a hot tub and the jacuzzi bath in the bedroom points to someone with a healthy sex life, so fair play to them. Incredible what you can get for €145,000 up North.

*Not sure how much you can see with the hedge.

Altogether I don't find it that bad.

", it's a private Facebook group, so you have to join. It's mostly pretty dull with people asking suggestions for what colour to paint their kitchen etc. But there is the odd gem

I actually found it through the "uglyirishhouses" Instagram page that's been mentioned on here. That page is well worth a follow, a couple of their posts are direct from that Facebook group.

The Roscommon house would be ideal for someone who'd struggle to get planning permission in the area.

You could keep the pink sink/planter for the garden of your new home.

I walked around that place back in January, it's got a massive footprint.
It's a very new build (2005) in the area and was the setting for the Pierce Brosnan flop, I.T.

At the other end of the price spectrum is this. I love the area and the street looks fine to me. You'd want to be able to get on with the neighbours. Roof may need to be replaced and it looks like asbestos tiles. How much to make it liveable if you can do some of the work yourself? Another €100K?
