There is a lot of useful info in the 2018 Thread but with the new grant structure I thought it would be useful to have a new reference thread for prices/package.

This will allow people to make a decision on what is currently available under the new Grant.

€11k + VAT less the €3000 grant for 4kw and 8.2 KW battery on a 2 story slate roof.

For starters, a 5kwh battery does not cost €4000! (13925-10525+ 600 grant). Its 2k a absolute tops and there's no additional work to speak installing it.

I just wish people would go to the trouble of using the list of kit received and pricing it up on midsummer.ie or solartricity.ie

If if you didn't take account of an installers trade discount of at least 25%, you'd still know pretty quickly as to whether you are being ripped off or not

You're right, maximising panels is the right move. But that quote is possibly the worst we've seen on this thread and there have been some crackers.

For comparison I got a similar install, 20 x 310w and Solis/PylonTech rather than Huawei, water diverter, PLUS a Zappi car charger for a little over half what you've been quoted.

The only reason you should return that guys call is to tell him he's a thieving bastard.

Why have the Hybrid inverter with the no battery option. Just lumping on cost for no reason.
Also, "that's crazy prices, at Super Crazy prices. Don't you miss it"

Waaaaait I missed that, so its 3.5k extra, just for the 5kwh battery, as they already have the hybrid in the first price.

Folk looking to move to PV need to read the 2018 and 2020 thread from start to finish at least twice, making notes of good setups and prices.

To buck the trend I think it's great we are seeing these loopy prices, means folks are coming here to make sense of their quotes and as a community spirited bunch we are all chipping in to help them in their setup and most importantly the prices.
Otherwise I'm sure folk would just be abandoning their PV plans (due to cost) or leaving themselves out of pocket and an unimaginable payback period. Both of which are just sad.

Hi, looking for company /installer for solar PV quotations. thanks for info on thread already. Especially interested if there are companies can deliver closer to the 1euro per kwp installed mentioned on threads and help me fastrack some quotations without the time expensive wasters $$$

annual usage KWh is trending at 5500 day rate meter and 3000 units nightrate meter (dryer/dishwasher/ etc and outlander EV charging at night). One air to water thermodynamic panel on roof heating 300L water daily for last 6 years including great winter performance so I have the Eddi type immersion diverter solutions covered.

sample quotation 4.48kwp system inc vat, dublin install:
14x320 panel - e2100 (7 east + 7west install)
solis hybrid 3.6kw - e1700
2.4kw battery - e1530
install 3900
total approx 9400, before grant

looking at Longi 360w and 5kw inverter to be in next quote similiar to solartricity.ie wholesale package
happy to receive company/installer name via DMs

Hi there, my solar job which is 4k cheaper than most other quotes I got. In fairness I hammered them down!
-Solis Hybrid inverter 5kw to future proof extra panels later date and wifi dongle for inverter app
-4.8KW battery
-14 panels JA solar 330w on a west facing roof
-Eddi water heater for immersion
-Zappi 2 car charger untethered and myenergie hub

7000e after grant - Net cost to me.

If u cut out one battery and the hot water diverter u should be flying and get as many panels as u can fit on the roof.

Hi there where did you get the batteries and did you attach 4 to the one 5kw Solis inverter as I understand you are not meant to attach more than 3 to 5kw inverter? Thanks

Naa, you would be paying twice as much as a normal inverter and not even getting the grant for the battery or extra panels as you would not be buying a battery, thereby losing €1.2k in grant

Either put the battery in at the start, when you are going to maximise the grant, or do without it altogether and hope the Feed-in-tariff comes along quickly.

Not really interested in a battery at the moment and installing a diverter would involve changing the water tank too, so I thought for hot water in the summer just stick on the immersion during the day. The central heating can look after that in the winter.

For comparison I got a quote with the almost exact same equipment recently.
Only difference was the panels it was 20 x 375w trina panels
So an extra 1kw of pv output over yours, although trina has shorter warranty's and would not be as premium as peimar.
That was 9500 after grant, 14K is shocking!

More like the installer only wants to do one brand of inverter, and all the Huawei inverters are hybrid.

How would that involve changing the water tank ?? The diverter is connected to your immersion.
Yes a more fancy tank might have immersion elements better positioned - ie one near the top and one at the bottom in which case a diverter can be configured to heat one first and then the other. My installer just connected the diverter before the bath/sink switch as he said the temperature gauge in most immersions with the two coils at the top won't really tell the difference between the two.
