On my application it said interdepartmental N/A...is this stream only for those already working within the civil service?

Yes, interdepartmental stream is open to serving clerical officers only.

As is my understanding it’s a 2 year panel so I’d say your chances are great if in Dublin.

Just wondering if anyone got any results for Leitrim today? My 2 location choices are Sligo and Leitrim and I've always had both location results within a few minutes of each other but today I only got Sligo results.

I was 13 for Leitrim and 21 for Sligo in my initial OOM..
I did etray in February and only got a result and OOM for Sligo today (top 10). I’m guessing as I had a higher OOM for Leitrim and that I’ve only received results for Sligo is that there are no plans to hire in Leitrim at the moment.. as I said I’m guessing.. someone on here may know better??

Generally the OOM for a previous round has nothing to do with the current round. You could have been 13 for Leitrim and 21 for Sligo in the initial round, but now you're top 10 for Sligo and haven't received an OOM for Leitrim. This might mean you're further down in the OOM for Leitrim now, or further up!

Yes, unless they are currently on a higher wage as CO. In that case you would take the point on the scale that is closest without taking a pay cut. That's my understanding, but I could be wrong?

That is correct. Also worth noting if you fail your probation as an EO you go back to being a CO, it's not out the door time.

Strange that they didn't disclose Leitrim results at the same time? I'd prefer Sligo anyway as I'm north Leitrim and "Leitrim" normally means Carrick which is twice the distance Sligo is for me. Fingers crossed they interview soon..... Well done on your top ten BTW. ðŸ‘

I tempted to apply but if they are going to hire internally then should I bother?

Also would my age be an issue (i’m over 40) and I’ve been self-employed most of my life.

I have a BA Hons and a HDip (both level 8) that they require.

Id say go for it, age is not an issue (and 40s not old!) you won't know until you apply.

In relation to references do you know if they just email your employer a standard reference template request that your employer fills in or do they call them as well?

Im not sure if they email or phone, maybe someone who has been through it recently will be able to answer.

I just have a question and apologies if anyone has already asked or answered earlier but if you turn down an offer from the open panel does that then mean you wouldn't get an offer from the interdepartmental panel?

It's a little better than that. It's the next point above where you are now, plus one increment. See section 1.2 and 3.1 here, https://www.gov.ie/en/circular/57443f-082019-starting-pay-on-promotion/

The most recent pay on promotion circular from DPER says that, if your current civil service salary is above the starting point on the new scale, you go to the next higher point on the new scale plus one point. So you should get a bit of a pay rise.
