Not sure it's that funny that members of the Dáil Press Gallery are asking the leader of a political party to make a statement on the abuse they are receiving online from supporters and members of that political party.

Would seem quite the opposite of funny actually.

I think it was more a response to the general pile ons that happen if you publish anything mildly critical of SF.

You probably knew that but still managed to deflect to covid, homelessness and journalism in general. Not bad comrade. Next time throw in #leotheleak for the full house

Well show us how you are making a proven connection to SF in the tweets you posted. Because I am not seeing it. The graphic designer who posted the meme doesn't seem to be a supporter of any particular party from a look at what he's tweeting.

'Pile ons' happen across social media, it isn't particularly a SF issue though. Peoplr get abuse from all sorts and for all sorts of reasons.

You cannot deny journalists who publish anything critical of SF are lambasted on social media. That does not happen to the same extent with other political parties. I'm actually surprised at the level of English those in Serbian Troll farms have.

Posting a 'backfire' meme when you believe something has backfired on a journalist's agenda driven piece is perfectly ok.

You and I have freedom to be critical...why are journalists above criticism?

You see, if that kind of snide remark was made on Twitter it would be classified as abusive and lambasting by the over sensitive. Ever hear the 'you can give it, but not take it' line?

I'm not denying that some stuff from all types on social media oversteps a line to be abuse. But the vast majority of it is along the lines of what you just wrote yourself.

For the majority of people in this country, people sympathetic to SF posting a shooting meme is not a source of amusement, no matter the excuse that it is a "backfire" meme. That is the legacy of their long association with a terrorist organisation.

That wouldn't be enough to get him elected. His remarkable memory must remember thousands of names and addresses. I sincerely hope that he leaves his brain to science when he passes on, it would make for fascinating study. What an amazing person he must be to have a memory like that.

Shouted down everyone and said let's leave it to the law to see if there was any wrong doing and we shouldn't discuss it.

Totally different to the SF stance on other political parties.

Matt was irrate the guide book given to SF TD's and canvassers on how to use Facebook to garner votes and voters was exposed by the Indo.

Of course he said he hadn't seen it.

Mike Reid on LMFM was flabbergasted.

Go to an event here with Heather Humphries...phenomenal and much remarked ability to remember names. Some politician's are good at it.

Heather learned her trade craft from Seymour Crawford. One of the finest door-to-door until it's bedtime politicians that the country has seen. Bertie was another cut from that cloth.

Remembering names, addresses, and information gleaned from Facebook data trawling is at a whole different level though. Extraordinary.
