I would have thought that people like that are a walking time bomb. Bear in there was no damage to his neck and Chauvin called paramedics to assist Floyd. Incompetence on Chauvin's part sure. Intention to harm? Not so sure.

Tony EH wrote: » They knew they were ****ed from the beginning. They tried to plea 3rd degree before it even went to trial. Chauvin was caught on camera killing a man, slowly choking him for nearly ten minutes. All the excuses and naval gazing baloney wasn't going to top that. The defences' case was paper thin and by the time they were down to trying to blame exhaust fumes, the writing was on the wall.

I was actually going to throw in a comment that we should start checking her record and see did she bunk off school in the past when I posted the story first but I figured I'd let the usual posters out themselves,

When emotion and politics get in the way the outcome is a foregone conclusion and that nuance was never going to be entertained given the atmosphere. No different to OJ Simpson trial all be it in reverse. Another foregone conclusion. A show trial.
Tony EH wrote: » Bullshit. He knelt on his neck choking him. He was THE determining factor in Floyd's death. Your excuses are lame. You like the defences' were.
Guy:Incognito wrote: » His first sentence in reply was to mention a knife. Its narrative building and is the same in all of these cases. You don't have to look any further than the subject of this thread. The day he was killed there was a concerted effort to put in peoples head everything about his past. Its all to get people on the side of believing these people deserved to die and they brought it on themselves, pick any of these cases and look at the narratives. They're never nearly as quick to dig up the cops record and bring it in to the conversation as part of "getting the full picture"

joseywhales wrote: » Yes I can see that is a tactic that posters use but as with the chauvin case, its all meaningless because as we could see the trial is about whether the officers actions are criminal in that moment, irrespective of whether the alleged victim is a saint or a mass murderer. So the whole narrative is moot anyway. Regardless, by jumping to conclusions, we are also building a narrative which can prejudice our own views before we have full details and it is much harder to keep an open mind if you have already committed yourself before you see all the facts. Perhaps you have more information than me, I have very little. By resorting to the same impulsive narrative building, you just cloud the waters and actually help your opponent create doubt and doubt is all that is required in these cases. Today was great because justice was exercised in the correct way and the rule of law was strengthened. It was not the court of public opinion, it was the court of us law that found him guilty.
