Looks like it, you can even see the dirt left from the flood water. I feel sorry for the owners, it'll be a hard sell even at that price.

I doubt a bank would approve a mortgage for it and insurance companies won't touch it.

My builder objected to this as it meant the counter above the machines (and the door joints) would be on a different level to the worktop counter, which runs into the side of the press.
So as an alternative we put a slide-out shelf in directly above the washing machine.It's brilliant, means we have a shelf at a comfortable height to empty clothes onto and then hang them on the clothes horse or fold dry or whatever.Works a treat and cost very little.:-)

In reality it would be an ideal workshop, not a living space.

yeah but you still have to bend down to fill or empty the machine. I really don't understand your builders concern at all.

Sounds like they wanted to put a counter over the elevated machine, so I can see the builder's point of view, it would probably have looked better with a shelf instead.
