Do you think that U.S. law enforcement (many of whom are black) are going around causing black people to die in their droves? Or would you consider that that is a misrepresentation?

I don't care about looking left-wing or right-wing or whatever wing - all I care about is the truth, and I don't think what you say is entirely honest.

America has an out of control gun culture. Police have to be armed, even though it is very intimidating. I cannot accept that the police - especially now - would head out on their beat deciding "let's bag us a black guy lol!" Of course it's sh1t when the police shoot someone dead. Of course. But they don't do it for the craic. They do it in response to criminal behaviour/threats. Just deciding "no they don't - they just want to kill black people" is childish and brings nothing to the table.

Now not very long ago - absolutely there were police who behaved in the way you describe. Watched Detroit last night - heartbreaking and enraging. But there is a pretence that things are still that way today, and it's very disingenuous (I am not saying things are perfect either).

Crime in the U.S. is at its highest among African Americans, Latinos and whites. The others are shot too for criminal/threatening behaviour. It's to do with behaviour, not colour.

And finally, in urban black communities, gun crime is exceptionally high - Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, St. Louis et al. Could that stem from the racial inequality that black folk experienced when they moved from the deep south to those cities? I absolutely think it could. But does that mean it can't be talked about or that members of the same community don't have a responsibility to try and improve things from within? No. This helps nobody.

The real way to solve these type of issues is for America to get a hold of the rampant gun problem they have, but as we all no they have no real interest in doing so, mass shooting after mass shooting and nothing done, they seem to be okay to live with it.

The common theme is police are so amped up and scared when pulling someone over or dealing with someone that there finger is always on the trigger in case someone does something, this is a recipe for disaster, if someone looks at them crooked or farts in there direction they're liable to shoot you.

IMO running away or resisting doesn't warrant a death sentence but the police always come out with statements like he could of been going for a weapon so it justifies the use of deadly force, its messed up but they don't have any real desire to change anything.

In any case, if a police officer is not capable of telling the difference between a gun and a tazer, either the training is worryingly bad or the tools are way similar in terms of appearance.

Has happened before.

The solution is to defund the police or to give them even less training with firearms. Less firearm training will ensure that there will be less mistakes.
