They did it there on the childers road? Had their own unit, bought that plumbing place next to it, knocked and expanded.
Though that would be knock/gut rather then just moving straight in, but that would be the case for most stores.

I ordered a selection of craft beers. They arrived within half an hour which was very good for a Friday I thought. All in all a good service and nice to see local business innovating during the lockdown.

More into the mainstream beers myself, and now a regular customer of theirs - can't fault it.

Article in the Leader today saying planning has been submitted for the old PTSB building on Sarsfield st.

Planning was submitted by Huntswold Ventures who upon a bit of Googling, have registered address at Walsh Windows in Ballysimon.

Anyone got any ideas what might be going in there?

Nice little building if it got a bit of a refurb and get rid of that horrible brown colour scheme at the entrance

I googled it earlier but im still none the wiser! its a great location and just at where all the buses gather, pity its not a high profile shop really

According to todays Irish Examiner , Wetherspoon are planning to open in Limerick at some stage. Maybe Quinns in Ellen Street if available would be a good spot for it.

I assumed Quinn's wouldn't exist once Opera centre is finished just the facade.

Linked with the Bank years ago and it would be much more their usual MO. Or somewhere like the Argos site or Mountain shop on Cruises St.

Whatever about the old mothercare unit, no chance they'd go for the Argos store.

I'm pretty sure that the plan is for Quins to be refurbished and reused as a bar/restaurant. Not every thing is getting demolished.

I'd say the Cruises St units would be too small for them.

Argos would be bigger than Quinn's I thought when you take in the store rooms.

Mothercare is what I meant about the mountain place. Couldn't remember what it used be called

Mullin's Ice cream opening on William st. beside the casino. They're fitting it out at the moment. I'm sure they've seen the queues at Gusto d'Italia across the street and thought they're onto a winner. Gusto has consistently been busy since they've opened, so hopefully there's enough trade for both.

This happens regularly here, whatever the fad, 1 shop opens and does well, suddenly there's a glut of that type of shop until all but 1, or worse; none, are left due to the business being split.

Milkshakes and donuts spring to mind.

I'm sure they will be fine if they do more than just ice cream. The italian place also do coffee and nice cakes same as any other cafe

No Ice cream isn't a fad, but the usual thing in this city is that a shop has a unique selling point and does well, then we get way too many copies of that type of shop, the local economy can't handle it and they all wind up closing.
