I lived around the corner from there for a while. Yeah the city is on your doorstep but no way is that gaf worth the torment of living in the area. And the off licence right next door as well.

With a bit of investment (and a lot of insulation) I think this house could be amazing...but there is something about it that makes it feel like the ideal setting for a horror film. I'd say there's a 90% chance everyone who lived there would wind up being killed by an axe murderer. And someone has very probably already fallen to their death from that broken balcony...

These type of houses make me sad for the original owner.
Very elderly owner without the money for upkeep or modernisation of their own proud home.
Probably moved to nursing home on Fair Deal scheme with house idle/rotting away until they die.

Place needs to be gutted & extended out of the back. It has an outhouse with toilets!!

How come there isn't a proper road outside the houses? It looks like the developer built them all in a yard, and then just knocked two holes in the wall for access.

Looks like a classic pre-war build when only the wealthiest had cars, not the prospective buyers of these houses. No driveway in the specifications.

Yes, there's something slightly spooky looking about it. And that's even with a nice bright sky in the picture.

I doubt it's a council house, it's too big for that surely? Maybe not.

I love the original features which are still there but in need of some TLC in some cases like the fireplaces and bannisters. I'd imagine it was a beautiful home when it was first built and had buckets more character than the new builds of today.

You can certainly see how someone might think they're onto a winner with a half-decent semi-D, a front garden and generous rear garden practically in the city centre.

On satellite view some of the corner houses have huge plots that would cost you millions in Rathgar or Ranelagh.

I imagine you would only buy there if you thought you knew the area well enough that you had the "constitution" to deal with it.

Regardless though, 750k is off the wall. Number 6 is up for €445k and you could make it twice as nice with another €100k thrown at it.
