Not the strongest position throughout the provinces, it will be interesting to see who gets the nod there for Ireland u20 this summer.

I think McIlroy is a potential international at 15, dunno about Lowry.

McNulty really impressed me for last year's u20's. He was helped by playing behind a huge pack which provided the backs with great ball, but his skillset really impressed me nevertheless. Agreed re McIlroy - looks like he has all the tools to be a top fullback in time too.

does he? wasn't 1st choice for his irish u20 side and hardly been excellent for leinster this season. Very raw.

Osborne not considered, seems to be more focused on centre these days.

Most u21 players tend to be raw. He’s made appearances for leinster at 15 while flannery & mcnulty are playing elsewhere in A games. Would of backed him to start if there was a jwc last year, struggled with injuries before six nations

can’t have flannery on this list when he’s playing 12/ second choice 10 for Munster A meanwhile the other is playing for leinster in the pro14 was my point.. would be like putting Cormac foley down as a centre coming through cause he played there underage

You can and I did, if Flannery was on leinsters books he'd be playing 15 ahead of O'Reilly. Simple.

Right you hold onto your hopes that munsters 5th choice 10 will be a top fullback in a few years and il take the actual fullback that has made his debut for leinster.

Saying one is better than the other is fine but it's a bit disingenuous to dismiss flannery as a 5th choice 10 when he's been a fullback first and foremost and played fullback for the irish 20s the year before rielly he only started playing 10 after harry byrne and Ben healy got hurt

O'Reilly also didn't make irish u20 squad when competing with Flannery for a spot in 2019.

Maybe.. the top prospects usually play u20 a year young if they are out of school though.

O'Reilly is a good prospect but he isn't an elite one for me.

It depends, some players have 2 years of 20s and some players only have 1 year.

Yes and oreilly had 2 years but didn't make the squad the 1st year as a u19 when he was competing with Flannery, Wren etc.

Flannery played 10 for rockwell & Munster in every age grade, largely was second fiddle to Ben Healy at 10 and actually never played 15 until Irish 20s... if he’s second choice 10 for Munster a behind Crowley that makes him 5th choice.. jj carberry healy Crowley then him
