What does the future hold for Donald Trump? - threadbans in OP

I've seen two main options put forward on this forum, (1) that he'll remain a political force until the 2024 primaries start up and the Republicans have to take him seriously or (2) that he'll be so mired in litigation that he'll have no time for politics.

There are of course other options for the next 4 years - prison, exile, death or ill-health (he isn't young and he's been under stress), no politics but a business success, emperor. But it'd be an interesting exercise for people to lay their cards on the table now and make their predictions.

Personally I think his political influence will die quickly after the Capitol fiasco but someone else will emerge in 2 years, once the memories have waned, to be the standard-bearer for the QAnon wing.

It's actually worth remembering Hillary Clinton's comments about what occurred in Lybia. She basically laughed and joked about the fact that she witnessed Gaddafi on screen being anally raped by a Al Qaeda bayonet when he was executed on the roadside after his convoy was blown up by a US drone missile. "we came, WE SAW, he died". That is what she said, as she smiled. You have to be some make of total darkness to take any sort of glee out of some sort of absolute horrific scene like that. Beyond f**ked is what it was to say something like that, especially when the west had courted Gadaffi back into its fold of allies the previous 5 years beforehand.
At least Biden & Obama had the good sense to keep their mouths shut about what they had also seen. Or else they are a better make of human not to take some sort of twisted glee at some sort of f**ked scene like that.The moment that woman said that statement, it showed the American public exactly what she was, and it cost the Democrats bigtime 4 years ago.

So now the Trump is no longer POTUS, given that he is running out of functional lawyers to represent him and possibly in some financial difficulties; how will he be able to deal with the multitude of legal actions coming his way? He's always managed to escape the consequences of his actions through his life but has his term as president compromised his usual strategy for delaying the inevitable.

Time will tell. But at the very least, I expect any firm will be looking for payment in front or at least the money to be placed in escrow or something.

If that is the case, he'll find someone to defend him but I agree, they probably won't be the most renowned firm.

Surely there must have been someone more physically and morally capable for what is a demanding and challenging 4 year term in office ?

Where was this concern when such allegations were levelled at Trump and nearly half a million Americans died from covid while he advocated injecting bleach as a remedy?

Trump’s base already appears to be splintering. The Proud Boys have turned on him today after he didnt pardon their leader and changed his messaging about the Capitol riots. Calling him weak and a shill on telegram and telling people to not attend any more of his rallies or show him any support.

With that disillusioned base, and the fact that he’ll be tied up with legal troubles for a good while, I think we will see him fade out of the consciousness faster than expected. I’m wondering if a senate trial is actually the best thing to do.:,.it will keep the fire burning when perhaps it’s best to just let go disappear

The comparison between the husband/wife closeness each candidate respectively in that video is very telling.

I'd bet it won't be long until we see another Trump divorce. Of course, she couldn't do it during his presidency or his mob cult would have gone after her with a vengeance. However, I don't think she'll get much by way of a financial settlement once we actually get to see Trump's tax records and how much debt he really actually is in.

A lot of negative stuff, such as the tax issues, will come out in the future because the GOP will be afraid to lose more again in two years time.
