So to make sure all manual adjustments don't drain your oil tank, make a manual adjustment on the app, tap the Tick icon to accept, then touch the timeline and drag it left for some miserable amount like 10 or 15 minutes. Timer will start counting down. Hit the Cancel button under the timeline to stop the manual mode and store this default timer end. That'll teach them that oil doesn't grow on trees! (though it did, kind of, millions of years ago).
