Freshly roasted coffee beans online

My usual store to buy freshly roasted beans is 20 mins from my house and these days I go that direction less and less so I'm looking for an online supplier that will ship me beans roasted at least in the last 2 weeks. I go through a kg a month so a subscription would suit. Where do you recommend

it's fine but not as since as the su nollag for me tbh (clever dripper) May be a slightly darker roast.

Are coffee angel's beans not roasted by Bailies? Another poster mentioned it. I looked on their website and they don't say that they roast so it must be true.

I got a sage barista express about 2 months ago. I'm pretty much a coffee noob, so haven't tried many roasteries. Have been trying Cloudpicker since but wondering if anyone can recommend any good roasteries in Ireland? Found some good reviews on bailies coffee roastry and their prices don't seem to mad compared to the south. Would you recommend this roasty?

It's interesting that they've outsourced their roasting. You'd think having a few shops would mean they would roast their own stuff. Have you ever had any issues with Bailies coffee? I stopped ordering due to issues with consistency and was particularly disappointed with my last order about six months ago.

A lot of them about, but the one I use most is Ariosa. They deliver quickly, coffee freshly roasted the same week. Their Sumatra Mandheling is one of my favourites, €32/kg including delivery.

Got some beans off my sister, her friend's family has a business selling beans in Eastern Europe. I know I've been having trouble grinding beans in my Barista Express but Christ it's like drinking battery acid. They're two months old at this stage but even something much older from Starbucks or Lidl hasn't been this bad.

I brought some to work and even with the French press it's rotten. Thankfully we're due our most recent Badger & Dodo subscription because I don't see myself getting through a kilo of them.

I wouldn't mind but they smell lovely.

I wish the roasters would give the brewing method along with the taste descriptor, I don't think it's safe to assume espresso for lighter roast African beans

Have started with ponaire european and connoisseur blends .
getting a decent cup out of 18g /grind setting 2 / can adjust the water volume.
18.5g / grids size 3 works too.

might save you a few beans.

That's what sets apart the best from the rest. True specialty coffee typically comes with brewing recommendations, whereas beans that are sold as jack of all trades are usually mediocre at best and/or the roaster don't know themselves how to bring the best out of them. There are exceptions of course, but I agree this should be the standard practice for any respectable roaster (@Imbibe

), even if I sometimes find a different than the recommended brewing method to suit me better in the end. But mostly it's a very useful guidance that helps finding the flavours that I am after.

There was one roaster, can't remember which, that even gave exact brewing recipes including proportions, temperatures and timing.

The only worse practice is offering to roast beans for any brewing method the customer desires without giving any recommendations. That's a no go for me.

If you can sort out the postage now parcel motel is gone RAVE were great for Chemex - they will send you coffee preground to the exact setting for the Chemex (was not bothered adjusting the grinder on my espresso machine).

Worth a go until you get used to how fine you want things - I always believe in trying what it should taste like first..

In ireland I got mine from Velo coffee, they have their coffee in aldi and dunnes now (only hard bit is no roast date)

Coffee angel are doing 2 for 1 pre-xmas roasted beans for those that bought stuff from them before. Check your emails. Going through a fair amount of coffee at the mo so it's handy to pick two bags up for 12 euro!

Sage Barista Express is an all in one machine but comes with its price. Have had one for a few years and its works a charm. Has limitations but everything does.

Sage Barista Express is an excellent and very straightforward machine to start out on. Velo Coffee were the best I could find on price, you can use their 10% discount code when buying a machine too. They've been popular machines lately so supply isn't great.

The most noise is when it's grinding the beans, but that takes about 4-5 seconds only for a shot.

Not cheap, but I scored a slightly used one off ebay that was cheap and would be happy to pay full retail as their record on longevity seems exceptional.
