Who is so confused about exactly what the asylum system is built for she happily reported the New To the Parish story of a Brazillian lad who came here with his family, lodged an application, returned home for a year, got bored at home and came back here, and was aghast to find his asylum application had been binned seeing as Brazil appeared to be a safe enough place to see out the awful Irish winter? Or Kitty Holland may have wrote a piece. Holland the investigative journalist who didn't once query how some Kurdish lad was handed a 700K one bed flat in the middle of a housing crisis. Ebun Joseph prpbably raised it at some stage between ranting on live TV at Niall Boylan and trying to get some teenager sacked from a bar for getting her drink order wrong. Amnesty International and Colm O'Gorman perhaps. Just because they lied through their teeth about how Ibrahim Halawa ended up in prison doesn't mean they would like about DP does it. Ruth Coppinger maybe? Her who led a campaign that drove a rugby player acquitted of rape out of the country but didn't do a thing about a Nigerian LOI player actually convicted of a sex offence here who then continued to play? Or should I believe the Migrant Council, the Refugee Council and any other bloated quango who need to invent a problem to justify their own government funded budgets? RTE have sent their hidden cameras in to nursing homes, local councillors offices, overcrowded Dublin houseshares, creches, our hospitals and a few other state/ state regulated sectors, exposing corruption, poor/ dangerous living conditions, violence etc etc etc. Why no DP expose? Perhaps because canteen food and no Sky Sports package on the centre TV is a minor inconvenience, not mistreatment.

You're right that she doesn't work in DP or live in DP, because those people are under threats from their employer/host NOT to share photos on social media, so they have to go through 3rd parties. You'd wonder what they are afraid of.

Same concept here close the borders to defend our country it's culture, heritage and values.

As much as some of you think otherwise a DP centre is not akin to a magdalene laundry in 1952. I have not to date seen verifiable evidence of long standing abuse or mistreatment of DP residents. Like any organ of the state there may be a failure of service for a short period, but inferences that residents regularly face days, weeks, months of substandard food and accommodation are as of yet unsubstantiated no matter how much you wish it were not the case.

The notion that bloody Gemma drove that couple out of Ireland is as ridiculous as the DP center giving a half cup of soup and a piece of bread for Christmas dinner.

That is either very selfish or extremely short sighted. Islam might not be impinging on you now but it will eventually if it keeps growing. Or it could be the case that you live in an area that will never be affected by this type of immigration. I don't know how these kinds of posts keep garnering so many "likes". Joey made a false statement about the Muslims not getting dispensation for Eid and it got a whole host of "likes". But when corrected, that post didn't get any and Joey never acknowledged his error. There's an alarming amount of ignorance about Islam and its impact in the west on this Board. Especially so considering the same people rightly criticise the role of the RCC in the past but for some reason are blind to the threat of another more regressive cult emerging in this Country.
