Honestly since the Second World War the Russians in its various forms have wanted to undermine the United States and in trump, putin got better value on his return than Manchester United got when they signed Peter Schmeichel from bronby. Donald Trump has seemingly gone out of his way to excuse Russia’s malign activities for reasons currently unknown for certain. The Helsinki press conference mess was the first time that it was apparent to me that Russia had something on Trump.

A dated story from circa 03 Nov last which may have no basis in fact and be pure wishful dreaming/speculation has shown up online claiming that Deutsche Bank may seize Trump assets equal to the sum he owes the bank in loans to the tune of US$340 Million if he loses the race. An earlier Reuters link from 2 months back mentioned the bank looking at its options. I hadn't seen or read this before now and am asking if anyone here saw it floating around last month, pre election day?

I remember the considering their options story.

And I see that the wunderkind himself Jared is supposed to have set up a shell company which paid Mike Pompeos nephew of all people from campaign funds which might be why the trump campaign seemed very low on money at points during the campaign.

He's not going anywhere unless he ends up physically in jail. He'll be worth too much to someone to trot him out there. Heck, he'll probably have a ghostwritten (cough) column if he *did* end up in jail. We have him forever. That's how it'll work, unfortunately, it's the USA and money talks.

My guess is he'll end up in Mar-a-Lago eventually, he'll get his backers to buy off whoever is complaining.

In related news, apparently there was a stormy meeting at the WH where Trump proposed crazy Sidney Powell as special counsel to the WH to investigate election fraud. For once, Trump sycophants like Rudy, Meadows, Cipollone and others pushed back hard on it.
Ex-con Michael Flynn was present, he already called for the army to rerun the election. But, it seems like less insane heads prevailed, So, it might not happen. But, amazing that 60+ million Americans are o.k. with this:

I dunno, but that sounds suspiciously like Powells about to be shoved under the bus if Dominion presses charges. Notice it says "related to Ms. Powell and Dominion", not the "elite strike force"/Trump team and Dominion.

So it seems Trump is slowly running out of bodies to throw in the way of incoming fire.

If it wasn't for the contrary-to-U.S-national-interests actions of Trump and the public suggestion from Flynn a week ago that martial-law be declared so a re-run of the election could take place, it would have seemed possible that a crazy story mind-f***ery distraction campaign was being run by the White House. The Powell-for-Special-Counsel storyline beggars belief. I didn't know Flynn was her client. How those two people are allowed any role as players in the Trump White House team is beyond me.

Bloomberg News is reporting that Bill Barr has said he has no plans to appoint a special counsel to take over the federal investigation into Hunter Biden tax affairs and he believes Russia is behind the latest hack into the US Govt. It seems he is taking a different position on both issues to that of Trump. I had forgotten that he doesn't hand over the job as A.G until after Christmas. I'd like to think that Barr is setting out structured guidelines for his successor to follow on how to sideline Trump's instructions until the 20th Jan.

Would it matter if he did ? Guidelines and norms mean the square root of **** all to the trump administration. Although bill Barr is doing some reputation saving which is cynical but if it stops trump setting up a special counsel(which he can’t do himself btw) then good.

I do also think it’s funny(is that the word ?) that member of the GOP are rushing to get the Covid vaccine like lads after a night out getting a chips and curry yet for months they’ve downplayed this virus.

It's obvious that Barr is trying to build a wall between him and Trump but due to his unwavering loyalty to him since he was appointed, it's like building a sandcastle on the beach as the tide is coming in.

Those now seeking the jab seem to have waited for Pence to go first before getting inoculated themselves, not willing to be the first to step past Trump for the cure. I'll wait and see if Trump will be on TV next getting the jab, probably not as he's already had treatment which he might think has the same effect, due to his knowledge of medication.

About two weeks ago, the heart surgeon Trump has on his Admin team [a non-medical appointment] gave a media statement about the treatment he took after he was infected by Covid-19. He told the media that he had taken the treatment recommended by Trump's pillow-empire pal, one NOT recommended by Admin medics, and was happy with the outcome. He ended by saying he had also got the treatment given to Trump at Walter Reed when he fell ill some months ago now.

It would appear that Trump and the lawyer removed from the Trump Campaign legal team for holding reportedly extreme views have met again in the White House for more discussions on the idea of overturning the election result through "legal" means. It's best for the U.S that Trump will hold true to his nature and reveal publicly via twitter what they actually said to each other on the options they see as open to them so that responsible persons can take action through constitutional ways to have him stood aside and his V/P inserted into the presidency for the short remainder of their term of office.

There's no point in unidentified people leaking from within the Admin on snippets of the alleged conversations between him and her as they are unverified. Once verified voluntarily by Trump, the former general and Trump's personal legal agent, along with the other legal person involved in the options discussions should be taken in for interview by the FBI, preferably by directive of the A.G. If that was done, the interim president would probably decline, for his own sake, to issue any pardons to the four persons, incl Trump, for any crimes or high misdemeanours they may have committed under federal law/s.

Paul Krugman is of the opinion that they see welfare as something that balck people get and that's a lot of what they hate about it.

Monday 21 Dec 2020. When Pat Robertson says it’s time to say to Trump “you’ve had your day and it’s time to move on.” you get to sense the wheels have come off the wagon. On Monday, Robertson said, “With all his talent and the ability to raise money and grow large crowds, the president still lives in an alternate reality. He really does. People say, ‘Well, he lies about this, that, and the other.’ No, he isn’t lying. To him, that’s the truth.”

Robertson added Trump shouldn’t run in 2024, saying such a move would be a “mistake” and a “sideshow.” Robertson commended Trump on the economy, but made a point of highlighting false claims Trump made over the years and said, “He is very erratic and he’s fired people and he’s fought people and he’s insulted people… It’s a mixed bag.”

Compare that with, In October, Robertson saying that God told him that Trump was going to win.

In November, he prayed to God that He would stop Satan from making people believe that Biden had won the election.

Then earlier this month, he prayed for a so-called miracle which would swing the election to Trump.

And finally, when Texas took that ridiculous lawsuit to the Supreme Court, Robertson claimed that it was a miracle of God's doing.
