Got a "We attempted to deliver your item" from An Post yesterday.
Was working from home waiting for them and just to be sure, I checked my security cameras. Nobody came to the door...

This is a package from Amazon and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, I assume An Post has a contract with them and it's easy to enter a fake delivery attempt to keep the stats up...

Inquired online, chat wit a nice customer service person trying to get more info, he could not get an answer to his call to the local post office and send an email asking for more details.

Took the time to go to the local Post Office where I was feed BS by the guy saying they only leave a notice after the third attempt to deliver and a
"Come back on Wednesday, if you do not get a notice"

Let's see if try to deliver today.

Lads are out 7 days a week now too.

I don't know what more they can do to be honest.

i don’t get it!! im waiting on a parcel from uk left langley heathrow on 10th, still not received by an post, yet last week i ordered an item on tues, left uk (langley again) wednesday was in d12 hub on thursday & in my post box Friday morning!!! it makes no sence how it took this package from same company 2 days to get from uk to me, yet so many others are delayed!!!

we are all aware of the delays and the backlog AnPost has to deal with but a little more transparency would be appropriate.

AnPost should stop accepting express mail, update their website with updated delivery times, give an update on backlog and their plan of action, consistent tracking, etc

Seems a bit of a ripoff scam to be accepting payment for express nextday delivery when they know they don't have a hope in hell of achieving that.

Scanned at Langley. Not "left".

As I've said several times, when it scans at a departure airport it simply means it is ready to leave.

But until there is cargo space available, it sits in the holding area.

Same if you check in for a flight - you can be waiting hours in some cases to actually leave.

good news it’s eventually arrived in ireland an post tracking, seems the 10th nov has finally arrived for anyone else waiting check ur tracking, yes still baffled though as to how i received a parcel from uk last week in 2 days from heathrow as well!!’ 10th parcels must have missed their flight!!!

Hi is there anybody still waiting on post from USA via USPS and an Post from around the 8th November ? I still havnt received mine. Mine was posted the 29th Oct. Arrived to Ireland on the 8th and nothing since.

Dublin Parcel Hub is hit & miss at the moment. Stuff that arrived in there last Wednesday night hasn't budged yet something that arrived there on Friday was delivered yesterday.

How do you know that it arrived in ireland?

If it's the usps scan it simply means that it has processed to the departure airport, but it does not confirm that it has left the US.

Airfreight is at a massive premium at present. Where I am we needed to transport a load of stuff from Boston - it took two weeks to get space on air cargo to London (longer if we wanted direct to Dublin) and road/sea to our premises here AND we had to pay twice what we would have paid last year.

Pharma and tech companies are outbidding everyone on freight causing massive delays and increased costs.

So if you are expecting anything from outside Ireland, expect to wait.

An Post seem to be back on track for my Amazon Prime deliveries... As all my shopping I made on Black Friday seem to be tracking through the system as expected: (small item delivered yesterday, two due today which arrived in the dub hub on Sunday and 4 arrived in the Dub Hub on Monday).

Don't expect anything from Micks Garage in a hurry. Waiting 4 working days and a weekend for clutch parts that are supposed to be sorted in PARK WEST, paid the extra for faster delivery.

In fairness I am in the same boat here myself

I have a company account with An Post and pay for express parcel postage (which they claim is next day) yet 80% of our stuff is delayed. Like it's that bad that some stuff going from Dublin to Dublin is being delayed by days which just boggles the mind since Dublin is such a small place.

I hope they sort it out quickly, a blind man could of seen the massive influx of parcels coming in the distance yet there doesn't seem to be any proactivity with regards solving it.

We have deliveries arriving every single day nearly by DPD and nothing (not a single thing) was delayed in the past 8 months.

I'm going to annoy Micks Garage for the extra I paid back if stuff isn't here tomorrow. I can't claim from An Post but they failed to supply the service Micks Garage paid them for so they can try and get their money back from An Post.

I just got a small parcel from Limerick to Dublin. Took 11 days ! :rolleyes:

I worked it out and it would have taken me 47 hours to walk it. 8 Hours a day walking and I could have just walked to Limerick and back in slightly shorter time.

Bought something off adverts, chap posted it on Monday registered. Still showing as accepted in the post office, hasn't moved an inch. I'm a bit baffled by that, I thought internal post like that particularly sent non-commercially wasn't as badly affected but its crazy to think its just sitting in the post office for nearly 4 days with no movement.

By contrast my amazon orders have arrived in less than 5 days generally. Strange situation, I do agree with other posters that An Post should be more open and give some approximate timelines for different post (e.g. internal, international etc.) Its a bit much just saying we are experiencing delays, what's the point of paying extra for speedy delivery when it makes no difference. Don't blame the postmen at all, they are up to their eyes but the management and comms strategy leaves a lot to be desired.

I run a small online store from Dublin. Some parcels I post are getting delivered next day but others are taking more than a week with one taking two full weeks from Dublin Post office to Carlow home.

We've seen delays since March due to Covid-19. Now with Black Friday and Cyber Monday I'm getting complaints daily from clients. An Post Live chat yesterday said to tell clients that parcel post is taking 5 working days minimum at the moment.

Someone mentioned Amazon getting priority. I noticed this as soon as An Post got the contract from Amazon a year or two ago. I wonder if it is a separate department of An Post looking after Amazon. I have had amazon delivery on Sundays over the last year but never received any Sunday An Post delivery from other sellers

I send a postal order every Monday (matinence) from D5 to D9. Normally arrives every Tue morn, however this weeks one still hasnt arrived.

Im just going to pay a motorbike courier nxt Monday for a quick same day delivery.

I ordered something from china 2 weeks ago, was sent the next day, arrived in Dublin Airport the day after on the 24th November, its still in Dublin airport.
Anyone know why? Is it in isolation or something? 10 days is a bit mad. Its just a little cheap console, nothing crazy, but would like to have it.

First time I've had China be the fast side lol

Sounds like fake tracking to me. Most cheap packages from China are only tracked as far as their own airports, if even.

I highly doubt it was sent the next day and then priority shipped to Ireland the following day unless you paid for it to be, which wouldn't be cheap.

Last status was 23rd November , koln Germany, nothing since .

Any insight ? I would have expected it to reach Ireland by now .

Koln is backed up due to shortage of flights... Can't blame An Post for this (and I have a package sitting in Koln since Nov 28)
