With the recent addition of the Off-topic discussion thread, I am closing the current McGregor thread so that chat going forward can be located in the correct threads. This thread is for MMA related discussion only - any other gossip/showbiz type stories are to be discussed in the off topic thread.

Please make sure to review the updated charter before posting - there have been some amendments made in light of these changes and in posting here you are at all times expected to follow those rules and guidelines.

As before there is a strict rule on no chat to be had here about legal issues or court cases as per the charter - this is a strict no go regardless of where it has or hasn't been posted in the media it is not allowed on boards.ie at all. This is not up for debate and it has been said multiple times now.

He’s fought other non boxers in amateur sports. Not a hope it gets sanctioned but vrs a pro fighter.
This just purely to string up media coverage ahead of some fight vrs the next random athletic influencer.

In other news Mark Hunt is fighting Paul Gallen (former Aussie rugby player). He’s undefeated in 10 pro fights. But we’re nowhere elite.

That's the older brother Logan he was a good wrestler in college , he is the more famous of them I believe,
The younger one is the decent boxer he's Jake, Now when I say decent I say for a lad who hadn't boxed all his life of course there are levels to it

He's fighting an ex NBA player the weekend be interesting as Nat Robinson was an absolute phenomenal athlete 3 time slam dunk champion and he is only 5'9

In fairness, he took the first round on the judges scorecards. Dustin was dominated from start to finish, hail mary guillotine attempt aside.

I wouldn't have Justin as any less worthy than the other two, besides being the most recent challenger, but he's definitely not ahead of them.

Sure, he has an obligation to his clients. But there's a difference between doing your duty and willing misleading to line your pockets.

People might say but sure he will have to fight the winner of Conor v Dustin anyway but Ali knows if Conor picks up the belt against Dustin he would all of a sudden hold all the cards and be able to make demands going into a Justin fight, Much easier for Dustin and Ali if its for a vacant belt,

Technically Khabib has a year to fight or vacate but as soon as Justin is signed to fight the winner of Conor v Dustin you can bet any money Khabib will vacate ,

There is no rule about it being a year. He can be stripped today if they wanted. Or they could let him hold it for longer.

With ambiguity over Khabib continuing. This is one situation where an interim makes sense.

Weeks ago. Around the time of the Khabib fight. Dana said he was against it from the start. Then when Khabib retired, I guess Conor thought he has a chance of the belt so agreed to 155, instead of sticking his heels in.
