You can work the whole way through both PPC1 and PPC2 if you want except like the days of the exams. So if your employer is amenable you could just start working as a pre-trainee now or around the time PPC1 starts. It looks like about half of the classes are on Friday afternoons and saturdays (in person) and the other half are on Friday evenings and Saturdays (online). I suspect all of the classes will be online for the forseeable future but they have not confirmed anything. They are recommending working four day week during PPC1 though ofc you could arrange with your employer just to take Friday afternoons off or work the time back or something like that.
