When it comes to the Fe1s 3 of the exams I passed where all just over 50. I'm starting to think I might not be cut out for law. If I'm finding it this hard now who knows what the PPC course will be like. I don't fancy not being able to make it at the last stage.

The FE1s very nearly killed me and I'm honestly still a little scarred by them. I sat 21 exams over 6 sittings in three years. I cried after almost every exam and again when my results came through. I went from being a consistent high 2.1 student to my highest result being a 52 in the few passes that I managed. I almost have up several times and am not really sure how I kept going if I'm honest. But somehow I did, and PPC was a dream after them. It does involve work but it's completely different. It's open book so far more about your organisation skills than having to cram everything. And working in the office is completely different again. The FE1s are the Leaving Cert of Law. Once you pass them, you never need to worry about them again. Unless you're me and still have nightmares about them... If you or anyone else would like to PM me, please do. I'm happy to offer any support now that I'm at the other side!

Family issues meant I played it safe and only chose to do 3 this sitting and hoping to do the other 5 next sitting, which I now really regret. Feel as though I'm not bright enough despite having a masters in law but you've really made me feel so much better about this whole shebang. Thank you so much for this!

I think all I gave was a one liner in relation to the cases mentioned and then just talked about standing in a general sense... I must say its quite unfair when you know a topic well and the majority of case law ,and then more recent case law are thrown in and that jeopardises that question. It feels like the paper is actively trying to catch you out by providing you with an essay option but then it throws in very recent case law that you may not be aware of. Similarly, the case note question seemed to be based all on more recent cases... is there an easy way to keep track of recent cases ?

Fe7 wrote: » Thanks for sharing. What approach did you take to learning? Did you learn outwards in (ie manuals and such then focus on exam sample answers, if any?) or did you make your way backwards in a sense, ie. by learning sample answers then expanding what you knew in those areas with reading/learning to have a grasp of the principles? I have heard of a lot of people doing the latter and sailing through the FE1s. Of course thats without the legislative changes as you mentioned, which just throws a wrench into it all. Edit: punctuation.

They never had a written agreement as the defendant had a policy of not entering into contracts with suppliers and the defendant then decided they wanted to get their products from someone else. The court held that since the defendant had such a policy they wouldn't imply a contract. I know I have it somewhere in my manual/notes but I've been searching and cannot find it. I really hope someone knows what case I'm talking about lol
