Same! I find international relations especially tricky to wrap my head around for some reason

Fair procedures might be a good shout too and its not really difficult to understand so wouldn't mind a problem question on that

Hi! Hope the last of the FE1s are going well for you all.

Has anyone taken City College's Equity prep course? I've heard it was one of the better ones, and it (and perhaps constitutional) are the exams where I could do with extra help. That and I'm far too poor to afford taking any more outside of those two!

Also would anyone know if we get a physical copy of the manual? Or is the entire thing online.

I heard independent colleges is v good for constitutional. The lecturer Nadia is meant to be very good.

Yes, would 100% recommend city colleges for equity... I honestly found that to be one of the easiest exams thanks to that lecturer, he breaks everything down so well
I believe they're still giving physical copies of the manuals

So confused what to do for this because it was 101 and 102 in August then 102 and mergers came up in August online, my notes are **** for 106 and I haven't done state aid very well

I think yes in Ireland but there are some jurisdictions that don't accept them. As far as I know though, in Ireland, it's generally accepted with the exception of a few things like where there's a requirement that a document be executed under seal. I think there must also be consent by the parties that an e-signature will be accepted. Exchange of emails will suffice for this since there's no prescribed format

Very interesting how this will pan out since it's been used a lot when the pandemic hit

Yeah I'm the same. Couldn't spot one... was thinking the question about Jimmy and Michael was one but wasn't too sure. Didn't attempt it anyway

No injunction as far as I could see! I did the Jimmy Q on undue influence. Nice paper alright!

Different examiner though! Noel McGrath is extern now as opposed to Oonagh Breen so will be interesting to see!
I had Dr McGrath in uni (not for equity) and he was a tough marker but VERY fair so fingers crossed!
He stuck to the formula though and it was a lovely paper, no injunctions though... and a LOT of express trusts

I think the paper was charities, trustee duties, 3 certainties, donatio mortis causa, undue influence, estoppel and note on strong v bird/ Hastings v bass/one other.

Think I’m missing one.

That Equity paper was so handy! Am i missing something or could you have literally potential passed knowing just trustees duties and express trusts - 4/5 questions

What were people's opinion in regards to the DMC question on Jane assisting Betty with her suicide ? I mentioned the Agnew Belfast Banking Case and followed up that suicide is no longer a criminal offence in Ireland. Is a DMC still valid if the person claiming it actually assisted with the suicide ?

It was Mary that helped her commit suicide. Assisted suicide is still a criminal offence as far as I’m aware but it was Mary not Jane so I went with it was all good ... but not 100%

I said it was still valid as per mills v shields & kelly where they applied Wilkes v allington !! Could be so wrong though
