I know of a communist activist who frequently uses his FB to call for the execution of "blueshirts" and their collaborators who was a parliamentary assistant for a left wing TD (which I assume gave him a Dail security clearance)

It goes to show how little of a danger the authorities deemed this fantasist to be.

I too knew of a few like that in their younger days. Most have toned down the death threats. I really think we need to get a lot sterner on threatening and assaulting politicians.

The Gardai breached this? are they political in this? And, eerily, in many other instances? and areas of Garda work. This may be a really serious fault line in the justice system?

There is no far right in Ireland. No shortage of far left crust merchants though. Inventing an opposition gives them a reason to get up in the morning while the rest of us get up to go to work.
