currently struggling with this too but I ended up talking about how consideration operates on the premise that there's a promise between the parties and promissory estoppel seeks to prevent a party from going back on that promise, pre-existing contractual relationship (because promissory estoppel cannot exist independently), a couple of cases for it, then on to part payment (Pinnel's case) and acts of forbearance because parties to this may be estopped from going back on their promise and cases on this again

Just looking at Courtney's reports on this and he seems to want us to list out all the relevant sections (section 175-195), except a few.

What are people's thoughts on doing it like this....?
- S182 requires a quorum of 2
- S183-184 sets out the governence measures in relation to proxies
- S188 concerns voting powers

Obviously, for some of the sections which are more specific to the EQ asked, you'd be delving into more detail. And the emphasis of the EQ has been on the 3 mechanisms by which members give their sanction (resolution at a meeting, written resolution, and thirdly via estoppel/Buchanon aka Duomatic principle). I think writing it all down is irrelevant only he's asked for it. But don't think we'd have time to delve into it in an EQ.

Hey I was wondering if I could get someones opinion please! If a general essay on the SOP came up for constitutional for example like the one in march 2018 Q 5, is it ok to talk about the SOP generally in your introduction and then just focus on one area for example non justiciability or the non delegation doctrine? or do you think the question is looking for a more general discussion on SOP that involves pretty much everything?

Hopefully someone else will give you a better answer as I passed 2 years ago and not too fresh! If you're friendly with a few people doing constitutional, you could do a little bit of reading on each of these.

Would you talk about attempted murder if there is no reference to an attempt to kill in the question? It was my understanding that proof of intention to cause serious injury is not secure a conviction for attempted murder? Would you mention it and then say that there is no proof of intention to kill so a charge would not likely be successful?

Yeah if anything you've overcovered the course I wouldn't waste your time learning anything else.

Finding is barely even a topic though I learned it an hour before the exam.

Just know sucession inside out it comes up twice most of the time.

Sorry saw Lallers96 posted above, yeah I suspect easements comes up more often than reg of property but I honestly don't remember maybe it does come up every year. Sure you can throw some points about registration into every question now.

Just look though every past paper, if you have 5 qs you're fine. I'd wouldn't waste your time spreading yourself thin, just do past questions. I had 4 topics and I could do every past paper but one so I just learned finding on the way in as said

You could drop a topic or two there. Succession Law, Adverse Possession and Co-Ownership will more than likely give you 4 Qs. You just need 1 more from the rest. I myself plan on leaving out Mortgages because I found it very convoluted. A problem Q on Finding is quite common, and I've also chosen Licenses & Estoppel, and Easments. That should be enough for 5Qs.

Yes, they've confirmed that we can use the bathroom now

I also saw that post, I think it was in the fb group, about how if you're not comfortable with the online sitting they are considering finding a way to accommodate you... I think the person who posted it might have been speculating that there may be a physical sitting, as opposed to being told that directly. They confirmed that you can get a refund though if you can't do the online sitting.

To be honest it's unlikely that it will be possible for them to organise a physical sitting any time soon, with all the regulations. The last time they reorganised a physical sitting (August) it took them 5 months to organise it, so even if they are trying unfortunately with the restrictions there's no guarantee it would even be organised before next March. I'd say if it's at all possible for you to sit this one at home try give it a go, even if you have to cut out some parts of your study you could still get luck with the paper.
