I am looking for a basic laptop
I just want to download open office and use zoom.

Anybody any recommendations?

this is a decent laptop in your price range. pretty much the only ok budget laptop around currently.

the cpu is actually decent for the money and has an ssd.

i'd spend another £15 to bring the ram up to 8gb. simple job with a screwdriver to open case then it just clicks in.

you will hate that laptop its cpu is slow its 4gb memory is not enough for Windows
and now Lenovo computer get blue screen death if windows is updated

dell had ok 10th gen for 570 euro i don't know if they still have it it's hard to find on it's site

curry's,,did,,Harvey Norman etc will charge you 700
your better waiting until december
and try and sell older amd or intel cpus

if you have old slow computer there's a program you can get to run it

the athlon 3150u scores above last years ryzen 3 on benchmarks so it's not slow and perfectly fine for common laptop tasks

it's less than 20 euro to upgrade to 8gb - link for ram already posted

Looks like only one memory slot in that laptop, so you would have to ditch your 4gb if trying to upgrade ram.

that's incorrect.

the 4gb that the laptop comes with is soldered onto to the motherboard. It's not in a memory slot.

the actual one memory slot that there is, is free.

not bad (same price pretty much after ram upgrade on the other one) but the 3050u cpu is actually a good bit less powerful than the 3150u cpu in the lenovo in did

as this is the low end, it would make a difference to day-to-day so I wouldn't go for it tbh over the Lenovo

The ram that comes soldered in is 2400Mhz so might as well buy that version

The other speeds would run fine but most likely would be downclocked to 2400Mhz to match the included one

somebody said that DID don't actually have it available anymore but haven't updated their website.

not sure if that is still the case or not.

I got this from DID. It was a good recommendation, if it comes back or is available elsewhere. Only caveat is that the screen might be a bit better and battery life is poor. Would still recommend it for the price. Get the extra 4gb memory.

yes the screen max brightness is not great - but this is ultra budget territory for laptops.

the cpu is actually not bad and beats any current celerons or pentium mobile cpus

pretty much a ryzen 3 cpu and the integrated graphics will even run some basic games.

Any other good bargains out there for around €350ish. Mys son's 2 year old lenovo la[top just died and is not fixable so need to get something quick. Doesn't need Microsoft office as they use the Google suite in school.

I'm having trouble getting hold of anyone in DID and today just rang the store I selected for pick up in and they asked my to come in and select another laptop instead, anyone recommend anything in DID at the moment?

As opposed to website claims, their Galway stores had no stock of any Lenovo a few weeks back.
I took risk and ordered online for home delivery. Took a good week to arrive.
