However I bought borderlands 3 for 10 pounds just now for the free upgrade to ps5 version ....

The removable side panels feature is very exciting. You could basically change the entire look of the console. I'm sure a lot of really creative folks will be designing panels soon enough.

I'm picturing something like a custom black & red spiderman side panel with built in LEDs, illuminating the spiderman logo and powered by one of the USB ports on the back.

There's already a miles morales mockup online but yeah the customisation be great, xbox 360 had something similar in the past

I'll be happy enough when 3rd parties on the likes of Aliexpress get on board with them, I won't be spending big bucks on an OEM. My PS3 and PS4 which will still be on the unit next to the PS5 are black so frankly a simple black panel for me.

People will go mad with making these, maybe even ones with LEDs in them connected to the USB port.

If Sony see a big market for side panels a potential revision they could make to the console in a few years is letting us choose in the settings what colour the LED built into the console is. I think it's blue on startup, but letting us choose a colour to match whatever side panel we are using would be a nice little feature. In the Miles Morales console above they look to be red for example.

Not unless you opt in for Europe. But in the US, they are only really starting to look into data privacy, California is leading the charge but most states are wild west about it.

Here you could sue easily enough if Microsoft don't have proof of allowing them to send data to third parties

Will be using a regular external USB as a pack mule and move stuff around until prices go down.

the price's as a baseline for future discounts will still make it very hard to stomach any further discounted prices would still be hard to stomach as it would still be too expensive imo the fact that you can get 1tb for sub 100 on sale for pc

PCIE Gen 4 NVME SSDs are expensive for PC still.

I got a 500GB Corsair MP600 for £100 a few weeks ago. It has read speeds of up to 4950MB/s and write speeds of 2500MB/s. As far as I'm aware the PS5 SSD is faster than that?

What you're looking at for sub £100 are Gen 3 NVME SSDs. I've a WD Blue NVME that cost £95 for 1TB but it's can only read at up to 2500MB/s and write at 1950MB/s.

Yes and no.
You can trade in from the list against buying a ps5 game. But the credit you receive is 35euro, so it doesn't quite equate to being half price if your pre ordering one of the ps5 games at 80 euro, eg Demon Souls will cost you 45euro with one game traded in from the list, but Miles Morales will only cost 25euro

Fair point no didn't take into account the speed of the drive,still think the prices are still too high especially when the ps5 is gimped already
