There have a few threads/posts over the years with lads looking to get a price on, valuation or appraisement of items they may be thinking of selling or are trying to sell for someone that is leaving the sport. The Mods usually delete these threads because 100% of the time they turn into selling/buying threads and because they are not in the for sale section or some people use them to subvert the for sale forum rules on price, pictures and location it is ripe for abuse.
However after discussing this with the other Mods i believe a dedicated thread where all valuations can take place, and be correctly monitored is of more benefit to the community than the outright prohibition of them.
To that end here we have the new valuation and appraisement thread. In here you can post about any item you want appraised or are thinking of selling but are not sure what the value is. Again you don't have to be selling, perhaps you inherited an item and don't know it's value and are curious.
Whatever the reason this is the ONLY place to post such posts. The rules are simple:
- Post the item you want appraised and pictures, while not mandatory, are preferred as they will inevitably be asked for.
- Absolutely NO selling or buying. Any posts asking for a price (not from the OP) or in any way trying to buy the item/part of the kit, will be deleted.
- Absolutely NO posting about sending of private messages trying to sell/buy "secretly". Anyone caught doing this will be banned from thread.
That is it. It's that simple.
Lads this is being done for you, to help the community. Like the forum itself any abuse may result in us losing the platform. The for sale section works perfectly fine and is easy to use so lets not waste a good chance to help others out by trying to use this thread for anything other than its intended purpose.
