Protests shouldn't be going ahead, or if they do, they should be wearing masks and keeping socially distant from each other.

There is really very limited value to having supporters turning up, especially during a pandemic when many people see those gatherings as a negative. Sure it might 'energise' a few people but those attending his rallies are already the die hard Trump supporters, many are there for the 'event feel' and don't even stay for his full speech.

I think the train idea is actually very smart by the Biden team, it creates a great contrast to Trump who props himself in front of planes. Plays into his whole 'working man' narrative, understanding how to help normal people.

It looks terrible...you go on the road to meet the people, not relatively empty train station platforms.

It is easy to dismiss, but it is an element that should make the Biden camp very uncomfortable, don't kid yourself, this is not going unnoticed even if the media don't seem to care...the same media who aren't exactly reporting on the recklessness of the supporters of Trump either, they prefer not to mention the size of the crowds oddly enough.

Look, I think it is a gamble of Trumps to have these rallies as the media are only waiting for any kind of surge in cases...I will say however, he is probably better informed than I am when it comes to risks.

There are of course, many many other public displays of support for Trump that are not organized by his campaign team, car/boat parades, marches etc across the nation...there are absolutely none for Biden.

We have to rely on polls and the media to inform us of how the race is shaping up, I'd be a bit nervous about that if I were a Democrat.

It's not making anyone uncomfortable because it was planned this way, to plan it otherwise is stupid right now, if they wanted crowds, they could get them easily.

And Trump doesn't care about the risks to his supporters.

I should point out, the size of the crowds that Trump draws is not why I think he will win.

Are huge issues that have only materialized in the last 6 months even...I believe that the Democratic Party are on the wrong side of these issues, and have thought that since the early summer. Extreme lockdowns cause more economic damage which will not translate into votes for the people who imposed them.

There is a different energy in the States now, as the economy picks up and the damage the rioting/looting/vandalism gets cleaned up, before Covid I thought Trump was coasting to re election, since the surge in gun sales and the riots I felt that once the economy picked up quickly he'd be back on track.

I am not basing my opinion on polls, so feel free to completely dismiss my opinion.

Because Trump himself in the debate last night acknowledged that he said it, but claimed it was sarcasm.

Like I've said before:

Bill Bryan was discussing the effects of light and disinfectant on the virus and Trump (after Bryan was done with his presentation) began to speak about a conversation they he had had earlier with him. The 'sarcasm' that Trump speaks of is when he said he said to Bryan that he would be using "medical doctors" for that. Twas a sarcastic joke. Hence him laughing as he said it. See below.

Trump at no stage whatsoever told people people to inject bleach.

Bryan had just given his talk and Trump was merely being lighthearted (for a total of 64 seconds, what a bastard) and the liberals, as is their way, seized on something innocuous he said as they knew it was something they could twist to their benefit, which by the way, makes a mockery of how they all moan now about how Trump didn't take the virus seriously but yet look what happened when he had experts address and inform the public about how the science was coming along. The liberals and the mainstream media had a feeding frenzy and behaved like children, ignoring all the positives from the presser, just so they could have a juvenile gotcha of their bogey man. So much for caring about the public's health, eh.

Here is what was said when Bryan was finished speaking about the effects light and different disinfectants had on the virus [Timestamped]:

"So I asked Bill a QUESTION that probably some of you were thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting:

"So, SUPPOSING we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light [Trump speaks to Bryan] and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it.

"And then I said SUPPOSING you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way.

"And I THINK YOU SAID YOU ARE GOING TO TEST THAT too. [Bryan confirms that research is being done in that area].

"Right, and then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And IS THERE A WAY WE CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT by injection, inside, or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs

"So IT'D BE INTERESTING TO CHECK THAT.

I don't think Trumps campaign team care much about the health of anyone attending the rallies, they're actively courting the "anti-lockdown" vote in the face of all scientific evidence to the contrary. To stop the rallies would be to admit they were wrong when they told states not to go into lockdown, and to open up as early as possible.

I believe Trump in that situation was referencing a potential treatment that was mentioned to him during one of his briefings as well as the UV light treatment, Maybe he should not mention these things at all but I am sure he was trying to give the people hope that some form of treatment could be worked on.

Sorry Pete. I'm a pharmacist. Anybody with an inch of sense knows that injecting disinfectant is an absolutely stupid thing to even suggest..like mind boggingly stupid. Your post refers to UV treatment by the way.

It's the same narrative in a few places, all singing from the same hymn sheet to try and cast doubt on the stupidness of what Trump has said or done, now Pete could independently be coming up with the same explanations, and while the explanations lack believability, they're not outlandish, if you pick a very narrow read on what happened, and go by transcripts, and try and pretend to know what someone is thinking (e.g. Biden made him say proud boys) it all falls apart very quickly as shown above, as there can't be 2 explanations for the same event, especially when both make Trump look bad.

The good thing is that the day after the first debate, all the Trumpista are out trying to explain Trump rather than attack Biden, which in itself made Biden the winner.
