They were/are ripe for the taking, a lot of Latinos in America are conservative especially those who fled failed socialist states like Venezuela and Cuba. I did see Trump was a resounding winner on Telemundo poll on who won the debate, one of the main Spanish channels. Trump was never going to do well with the Black vote. He's tried and he has improved but there was much more scope for growth with Latino voters. Also appears Trump is doing worse with older Americans this time presumably due to Covid pandemic. I think Trump made a mistake sticking with Mike Pence. Pence does nothing for Trumps elections chances. A Nikki Haley or some Latino like Marco Rubio or someone would have been much better.

notobtuse wrote: » Come on, man... Biden did the same thing shouting over Trump, and Chris Wallace did the same thing shouting over Trump. The only one that got taken to task over it was Trump.

Maybe in the next debate he will show a bit more decorum and respect for both his opponent and the moderators and let them speak when its their turn. I dont believe he will, I think he is too thick to allow a fair debate but hey, we live in hope.

notobtuse wrote: » Sure did watch it. I know what I saw. Perhaps it's you who are too invested and unable to say a bad word about Biden. The next debate will be hosted by CSPAN. CSPAN's methods on their regular programming won't help anyone out if they follow that format for the debate. What CSPAN does is pose a question and just let the guests talk and say their piece. They don't challenge anyone on lies or inaccuracies. They let it up to the opposing side do that. If that is the case the debate will be little more that R & D talking points, not a debate.
Timberrrrrrrr wrote: » Yes but they are not allowed to just ramble on and talk over their opponent the way Trump tries to. If he does try that again I would expect moderation to call him up on it and you'll be here the following day crying about the unfairness of it.

notobtuse wrote: » Hmmm... Only Trump, eh? They both rambled, and Biden stumbled some but didn't across as a total bumbling fool, so his campaign could consider that a win, I guess. Face it Trump got in more clearer statements during the debate, and Biden came across as a shifty politician with mere talking points and no substance. And that might be good to challenge BOTH candidates on some matters, but that's not the way CSPAN rolls.
notobtuse wrote: » Not at all. Trump won the debate with clearer and more precise statements, despite the fact that the deck was stacked against him.

Trump signs $3B-a-year plan to boost conservation, parks President Donald Trump signed legislation Tuesday that will devote nearly $3 billion a year to conservation projects, outdoor recreation and maintenance of national parks and other public lands following its overwhelming approval by both parties in Congress. Supporters say the Great American Outdoors Act is the most significant conservation legislation enacted in nearly half a century.
