How to get water tested in the hospital?

Just wondering is it still possible to get your water tested in the hospital and how does one go about arranging this?

Contact the Public Analyst Laboratory to check. They used to conduct water testing, not sure if they are doing it at the moment. http://www.publicanalyst.com/about_us/the_laboratories/public_analysts_laboratory_galway

Temporary cloudy water is generally just air from the mains being shut for works then reopened. Let it sit in a glass and it should clear in a few mins.

Ours isn't cloudy but smells like a swimming pool. They seem to have upped the amount of chlorine considerably (City West)

Theres a place in ballycollin industrial estate my company used to use but I cant remember the name.

There is plenty of places around though just google water testing dublinor whatever county you are in.

You just fill a couple of tubes and drop it in to them.

You need to call in to the lab, at the back of the mortuary, and collect the official plastic bottles. It costs 36 euro per test, and you can pay by phone using credit card (or in an office in the hospital somewhere) . After payment, they give you receipt number to put on the form and the bottle. Results will be posted out to you in 2 to 3 days.

(I suppose you could bring the sample with you to save making two journeys, but you would need to be careful not to contaminate the sample before transferring it into the official bottle)

This testing is for ecoli...not sure who does more extensive testing for other contaminants.

it's not cheap at around 600 euros but that will give you results for everything.

The other Lab at the Hospital - Public Analyst's Laboratory  - do the testing for chemicals rather than microbes. They charge €100.
