i have just moved into an area where there is an Aldi, i am not really familiar with the store, what do you recommend of their products.

Dont know have they been mentioned but the little packets of flavoured dried peas..chickpeas and corn etc called "oh so delish" are nice! 89c at the moment. Sriracha,bbq and salted and spicy are the three i have seen.

Trying to snack less on sweets etc and these are doing the job.
Probably gonna make them myself eventually but until then i shall be stocking up on these

Thank you, spotted it on the leaflet this week. I splashed out a few weeks ago and ordered a selection online. The raspberry and lemon is lovely:) but the lemon and lime is still my favourite!

Aldi have stewing beef on the super 6 atm so decided to make a batch of chilli with the excellent recipe over in the cooking club forum. Was just going to have the chilli with basmati rice as normal but then when in Aldi I spotted this tex mex dip tray for 1.99. Its guacamole, tomato salsa, sour cream and chive and nacho cheese dips. So got a bag of their Snackrite tortilla chips along with some jalapenos and extra mature cheddar cheese to make nachos to go with the dips.

It was very tasty indeed. Even if you dont have chilli beef those four tex mex dips with the Snackrite tortilla chips and some grated cheddar cheese melted into them would be tasty on its own.

Most plastic wrap in bins in Ireland is burnt at either Ringsend or Platin rather than landfilled. It is not recycled nor is there practical recycling on the horizon.

The company I got them from sell a wax to rejuvenate them, I don't know if that makes a difference to longevity.

I think I paid €14 for 3 in three different sizes plus 3 for delivery.

I like them, especially for the cheese, I ruined the first one by washing it in water that was too hot so just keep that in mind.

yeah I went through a bottle of that. Only problem I had with it is the twisty cap to open/close it, when you closed it a blob of mustard would come up and sit above the nozzle every time. Had lots of yellow spots on my tea towels as a result of always having to wipe it off.

Other than that it is nice stuff for a mild mustard, it goes well on a ham and cheese sandwich. Theres a nice sweetness to it to balance out the saltiness of ham. It would be good on hot dogs too.

The organic beef mince is very good.

So hard to find organic or free range meat, but I see it becoming more available these days, especially chicken.

Pork is still hard to find.

The skin on french fries talked about further up the thread finally arrived in my local store over the weekend. Had some earlier and would agree that they are a really good french fry, crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. Had been getting the beef dripping fries the last few weeks which are more like a chunky chip, they're not bad but nowhere as good as the skin on fries.

Love the Aldi black vintage cheddar but was always frustrated with the wet crumbly edge and trying to re wrap it. I got these new things called beeswax wrappers which I mould around the cheese. They are reusable, really recommend.

Have swapped over to this from a name brand one and for less price great quality and nearly double the amount it's a winner in this house

For anyone that likes Cinnabon buns when they are in the US Aldi's version are very nice. They do a two pack in where you get the Danish pastries for €1.79. My sister loves the Cinnabon cinnamon buns and rates these as a good alternative on this side of the atlantic. A fraction of the cost too!
