SMC92Ian wrote: » Weird comment, like SkaterXL isn't fun.
Zero-Cool wrote: » Yupp boring as ****. Great if all you want is a free roam skate game but no goals, no proper challenges, handful of maps, no pedestrians or moving vehicles and no multiplayer. I'm glad i didn't pay 40 quid at least. Tony hawk's looks to be brimming with content for 40 quid. Should have released the demo to all though and maybe 3 day early access for pre orders, would have made a lot more sense.
SMC92Ian wrote: » I feel the same about the first 3 THPS games, boring and lifeless, once we got the THPS4 and THUG that's when TH became the games I loved. I suppose SkaterXL and Session are aimed at people who love skating and not gamers.
Zero-Cool wrote: » Skater XL definitely feels like a skaters game. I haven't skated in over 20 years. I love it, i love watching it but that game just wasn't for me. Roll on THUG remaster!
SMC92Ian wrote: » Oh man imagine a THUG remaster.
johnny_ultimate wrote: » THUG (and indeed THPS4) is kinda like season nine of The Simpsons. There’s the general sense of what you liked in the earlier stuff, and fun to be had. But you get the creeping sense that a shark is in the process of being jumped (that would make a good gap in a THPS game actually - they had a bull after all).

Put me in a carefully crafted arena and give me a time limit to get a score however way I see fit. It's pure unadulterated gameplay. Bliss.

sugarman wrote: » Same! THPS 1-4 were untouchable in terms of quality game play and level designs. Everything just flowed so well.. the goals were perfect. Sound tracks were incredible. They were just real quality, fun games that had so much replay ability. THUG 1&2 were a completely different kettle of fish but continuing on what was great about the original series with added quirkiness of the Jackass element. Still really great games. American Wasteland was the last decent game in the series IMO. It tried hard to go back to the basics but fell short somewhat. It still has decent game play and nice levels that flow. Project 8 was just dirt. Game play was ok but the level designs were all over the place. Nothing flowed. Story/goals was meh ..and they tried too hard to be "with it" with the gimmicky phone features and social media etc.. along with a fairly poor sound track. It was just a mess. Proving Ground was a bit of an improvement, but it was trying to be more like the Skate series and lost connection with what the TH series was all about. The rest arent worth typing about.
