Even the Independent aren't running with it. Strangely all the Sinn Fein posters have come steaming in here to question the verdict. Wonder why. Is it just the usual anti Garda Sinn Fein impulse or is there some other reason why they want to support him. Anyone actually know what is going on and why?

A godfather of criminality in the area was previously defended by SF as a "Good Republican" and allegedly sat on the IRA Army Council. SF campaign against the Court which convicted that man. Now assertions of a wrongful conviction are being made by posters associated with Republican positions. I'd give SF itself a pass until it makes any statement on the issue but surely you can see a pattern here?

IRA by and large didn’t rob credit unions. Especially not in their own areas. The IRA that you all are referring to, the provos, no longer exist. And if they did as half of you will no doubt try to argue, why tf would they be robbing €7k from a fücking credit union!? They’d find more down the seats of their 2020 BMW X5! I’m from Armagh and vote SF and I think the man is guilty - May or may not be the trigger man but he was in my eyes involved and deserves every second that he spends behind bars. South armagh has a lot of criminality these days and it isn’t all “IRA”. Crossmaglen for example is awash with cocaine. It’s no longer the “pure” republican stronghold it once was. A lot of this new generation are not politically minded. Brady was what, 22 when this happened? He’s like a lot of young fellas who come from certain backgrounds, they think they’re untouchable and can do as they like. It’s the same as this crowd behind all the atm robberies. Keep this mind before you go blaming the provos on everything that happens in South Armagh

It was a very dark stormy night and the Garda who said that was having a gun pointed at his head. Easy to be mistaken in those circumstances. They got the right man and everyone around this area of N. Louth and S. Armagh knows it. Not many tears being shed for Brady, believe me. Tramp of the highest order. Now convicted cold blooded murderer.

I understand the widespread animosity towards the provos, I really do, but for the love of god unless you have one ounce of evidence that the provos were actually involved in the murder of a guard and the stealing of a paltry €7k from a credit union, produce it or shut up and stop talking shíte you moron.

I hope they jail all the scum bags connected to this , reading about this case it’s only started the Gardai have it in for them and rightly so . The ira had a point of not putting Brady to sleep ,?either it was to exhaust Gardaí time or see how far the hands of the law could go . There learning fast intimidation is not working anymore. I hope it’s the start of keeping the scum together behind bars throw in plenty ******s and phaedophiles with them as they have plenty of them in there precious organisation.
