All the continental Euro big boys are here and they're are some cracking efforts. Many of these you will have seen before and plenty you won't have laid eyes on. There are 96 entrants here and we'll whittle them down until we crown the Ultimate Champion of Western Europe. Action starts very shortly so get ready to cast judgment.

I like the crazy dolphin and the eagle-dragon thingy. Also I prefer the vertical stripes to the horizontal ones of Valencia's, which I find a bit overpowering.

Tuscany. The horse is a welcome change from lions, fleurs de lis and stupid squares on the German ones.

The Pegasus image on the flag derives from a coin made by the Florentine artist Benvenuto Cellini in 1537. The the Pegasus came to be associated as a symbol of the Tuscan region.

The usage of Pegasus by the Tuscan region endured and was adopted by the Tuscan Committee of National Liberation (CTLN) as a symbol of Italian resistance in Tuscany to the German occupation of Italy during the Second World War.
